ultimate extras ?

What are the "ULTIMATE EXTRA'S "
and are they worth the EXTRA $

cant seem to find much info on them

and i last time i looked they had a few things listed but basicly said check back later

what im looking for are responses from people who have Ultimate

Windows Ultimate Extras

Right now, there's not a heck of a lot of Extras. I think the only two I saw available when I last checked were the Hold 'Em poker game, and the Bitlocker Drive Prep utility (resizes a disk partition for you, like PartitionMagic, I guess).

Bitlocker Full Drive Encryption isn't an Extra in itself, but is only available in Enterprise and Ultimate.

Nothing to really knock your socks off, though.

IMHO, the reason to get Ultimate isn't for the Extras; it's more to get the combined benefits of the media support stuff in Home Premium, plus the Business benefite (ie: drive ghosting ("Complete PC Backup"), shadow copy, and EFS). That and not having to worry about discovering that MS placed some stupid artificial limit on, say, how much RAM Home Premium can access, vs how much Business can access. (This is a trivial example, though, unless you plan to run 64-bit and want more than 16GB of RAM.).

Right now there is only the Hold'Em game (which is decent but not all that special) and the Bitlocker enhancements, dreamscene is on the way and I bet Microsoft has some neat stuff planned.

But right now, Ultimate Extras are not a selling point ofr Ultimate yet.

D-d-d-damn. And I thought I had a lot of ram (4gb).

But then I remember thinking 4megs was a lot. And yeah all you C-Vic oldtimers probably thought 4k was a lot at one point too.
