I like the overall look of the case, but what really caught my eye was the power distribution system thing, interesting idea, anything that can make the insides of my case look cleaner I'm all for it. Not sure how well it will actually work, but the idea is a step in a new direction. being mostly Carbon Fiber it should be a joy to transport around which is another plus.

I'm sure this case is going to cost a bundle, but I'm actually waiting to see a review, from the previews I've seen this might be my next case.

Huh, pretty cool, but I wouldn't buy it because it's just one more thing that can fail, so why buy it if I don't plan on using it? Plus you'd have all those super long PSU cables right there at the top. I think I'm gonna start calling each of my fans a "cooling system"

good point, but something tells me Ultra will release a new X-Connect that has a few super short PSU cables just for this

sure, if the manufacturer fortifies the substrate with a magneto responsive material. ie: like a metal powder. I don't really know what would be the most effective or cost efficient, but yes, it would be pretty easy.

What I find odd about that is the fact that you can block RF by utilizing a metallic honey comb (aka, vent grill) by ensuring the diameter of each hole does not exceed one quarter of the wavelength of the transmitted frequency. This principle can be seen in applications such as RADAR (an area I'm familiar with) or even a microwave; that's why you can watch your food cook and not get radiated. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength. If one quarter of the wavelength of a 3 Ghz signal is about an inch, and CPU as far as I'm aware produces the highest frequency in a desktop computer, then exactly why are the holes on a typical vent so narrow?

Anyhow, as iNGEN mentioned, you can make use of ferrite based paint and tape to trap most EMR. I would suspect this case makes use of those since manufacturers are required by law to comply with strict EMR containment guidelines.

Thanks to both for the info.

case is cheap.

carbon fiber is a market gimmick.

carbon fiber = fiberglass sheet with a black 'cloth weave' and clearcoat over it.

do you realise how strong and light it is? not to mention it's hellova expensive to produce. We could argue weather or not we actually need a Carbon Fiber case. But, C.F. is far from a gimmick.

Well if they use carbon fiber for skidplates on dirtbikes, I think it'll make an awsome pc case. That would survive a lan party or two and be lightweight as well, unless you have a massive lead block with fins for a heatsink lol. Just wondering how silent it would be......

I'm really thinking about getting this case once it hits the market, too bad I know it will cost a bundle, and the entire side being a window looks cool, but my wiring work leaves a lot to be desired ha.

I wonder if this will be one of the many Ultra products you see for free or 10-20 bucks after MIR, I somehow doubt it but can dream

Not necessarily. They may call it Carbon Fiber, but it may not be genuine carbon fiber, it may just be what he said. Especially if this case is going to fall on the cheap side as carbon fiber is not cheap.

Have either of you actually seen the case? I have not, and it would not surprise me if they just used cheap polymers and called it "carbon fiber", it is done all the time in the car world. Are there any reviews, cost predictions? Also, note that the frame is still aluminum, so the case will not be dramatically lighter.
The power thing would make it easier to switch PSUs, but I couldn't see it being all that much better for cable management. (That is really an art form, and there are already some great cases out there for cable management)

I agree, looking at all ULTRA brand cases, this thing will probably be a piece of crap and turn out to not be real CF at all. I've dealt with ULTRA before, even their expensive cases, and the quality is NOT GOOD!!!
