Still, this is good because there is the chance of rebate. At Tiger Direct this PSU is $50 with no rebate, but shipping makes it around $60. Frys.com is $60 shipped, so with possibility of rebate it is a better deal.

BTW, I'm now buying from Frys.com again. The 5 month fiaso of them shipping me an empty box and me doing a chargeback because (at the time) I couldn't get customer service (calling literally many tens of times... 50 times?) is now behind me.

The Ultra rebates now go to Rebate-zone.com which is White Bear Lake, MN.
Zap, I did 6 Ultra rebates (fours Power Supplies, one Micro-Fly case and a USB2.0/1394 HD enclosure), within 4-5 weeks of each other. I received all six rebates without a hitch or a phone call within 6-8 weeks. Two were from Fry's B&M, two from Frys.com and two from Microcenter B&M.

White Bear Lake rebates are really exceptional. I've gotten two back without a problem for a FAR Ultra case and a FAR Ultra PSU.

The thing to remember with ALL rebates are to follow the instructions to the letter. Make sure everything is 100% accurate before you send it in. I've had TONS of rebates through onrebate and never had any problems with them. The only rebate I've had a problem with was one through PNY and they submitted it to the wrong promotion number when they received it. Otherwise, I've never had any problems with rebates.

Just be careful and pay attention to what others are saying about whatever rebate company you're going to be dealing with before you buy.

This one seems to have a decent rep.

I'm about to start a new build for a semi-high end system. I'm really only planning to run one high end video card (no sli). Would this PSU be enough to push a core 2 duo system with one vid card, two hard drives and a DVD writer?

If it would work, do you think it would have enough juice to handle SLI? Thanks in advance,

I just picked one of these up at a Fry's B&M. It has 35A on a single rail, so yeah, no problem...

The PSU posted by the OP is the new XVS line from Ultra.

I've owned both the Connect and X-Infinity from Ultra Products.
The X-Infinity died after less than a year but Ultra quickly replaced it.
Its CS is very good too in terms of RMA services.

Hmmm, didn't the Ultra PSUs used to have a lifetime warranty if you registered with them? Now all of their PSUs have a 3 year warranty with registration.

I'll probably buy this though. Almost bought the TD deal for $1 more shipped, before rebate even.

Went to Frys and bought one of these. Installed it up and running with no problem. I have 4 hard drive (2 of them are Raptor), Opteron overclocked to 2.8Ghz and GTS overclocked to 650/1100. The system is completely stable with this power supply. The modular flex cable is awesome and fan is quite. For a $35 power supply (after tax and rebate), I am totally impress.

Only been able to hit 3985.8MHz on a 430w Antec EarthWatts so far... Tuniq is working perfect @ 50C max!

Wasn't sure if it was my mobo or the 'green' PSU holding me back.

Just installed my Ultra XVS 600W psu replacing an Asus Truepower 430w unit. Substantial improvement in voltages on my Asus A8v MB! 12V now is 12.1 (was 11.7), 5V now 5.05 (was 4.9), and 3.3V now 3.39 (was 3.2). While I could have used another set of molex connectors off the unit, I made due with splitters. The modular connectors in the psu are themselves (female) molex; so a male to male molex cable would allow my running another line out. As I am running 4 HDs ,2 DVD drives, an X800 video card, and an AMD X2 3800+ cpu oc'ed from 2000 to 2600, the extra juice is much appreciated. Stability? Time will tell.

Rebate update: Mailed my rebate in on 6/15, got the check on 7/14. Previously, the only rebates I'd received in under 30 days were from Seagate. Ultra and the White Bear Lake guys get gold stars in my book.

Thats exactly what they did to my brother. He ordered some ram and they shipped him a box with just an invoice and some packing material. It took forever to get that straightened out. By the time he got his ram, it was too late to submit the rebate. The rebate was the only reason why he purchased from them in the first place!
