Dude, anandtech wrote a review where they said the ULtra was barely (if at all) faster than an overclocked GTX, you're paying a high premium for very lil improvement

I'd buy the EVGA Ultra in a heartbeat if I were upgrading my system.

$690 for an 8800u AND 680i motherboard?

That deal cannot be beaten.

Nor can it be found. If you are referring to Swethan's post about the $690 "deal" the package costs over $800, he was just subtracting the boards cost.

To be honest, the 8800Ultra is a huge waste of money. An 8800GTX can be overclocked to reach the same speeds. GTX' in SLI would rip a single Ultra apart.

The only thing I see that's even noteworthy about the Ultra is it's new cooler. Other than that, seriously, buy a single GTX and overclock it if you wish to reach those speeds.

You poor people don't know jack about Crude.

Ultra is a highly binned chip. Thats why it's ULTRA.. It's worth every penny, if ur not poor.

Having most cards going from 5xx to 6xx will work, but over time , u run into alot of OCing issues, instability, excess things like artifacts appearing out of no where.

I'm not saying the Ultra will fare much better at it's speeds in the LONG run, but for anyone who bashes the Ultra, think about it just a little first.

People are bashing it in terms of value. I could go buy 2 Ultras right now with cash and watercool them if I wanted, but it is a waste of money. It has nothing to do with being poor it has to do with the value of the product for the money. A higher bin for a better OC doesn't justify the insane price premium.

I think you may be poor because you still use an Opteron 144 instead of a watercooled QX6700 :roll:

It's not about having the money... rich people do not become rich by wasting money needlessly.

Ok I suppose I shouldn't use the word POOR. Less_affluent people complain MAINLY based on financial circumstances that initially motivates them to instantly say ,"Its not worth it"

What i'm trying to say is, It is Very much in fact WORTH it. Only not practical to the market because of Most people's income level.

I have an Opty cuz i'm no longer Entrenched on epenis extensions.
