how the hec do ya get 4 on a limit of one deal?

I think he means he keeps buying them each time there's a new promotion period.

I got my rebate check on Monday...a fairly average but acceptable time frame (Staples "easy rebate" has been the best by far for me).

re the case: This is an excellent case for the money (from FREE to $40). Granted, the frame metal is cheap-thin but the case is reasonably well made otherwise, it's attractive if you take off that ridiculous chrome "Ultra" logo (eye of the beholder, of course), and unobtrusive (though it is deeper than most cases). I wouldn't hesitate to buy this case again (preferably FAR, of course).

quick question, just starting my build. I first screwed in my brass standoffs and with those in place my motherboard is WAY too tall. Its not even close. If I take off the stand offs and just place the Motherboard directly onto the 6 raises cone-like metal parts it lines up perfectly. I've never seen a where the standoff's made the MB too high for I/O panel opening and the PCI slots on the back. Is mine defective? Are the metal standoffs necessary or can I just screw it to the case without them?
Thanks

I just want to tell everyone, especially cherrytwist, that I received $40 rebate check from Ultra and I am heading out right now to deposit it into my checking account

You will get your turn to get one FAR.

Yes very nice. at this point if you are into servers you can easily couple some cheep AM2 boards with something like the 3600+ X2 for about 100 bucks. Now thats a pretty quick server on the cheep. 2 gigs of ram can be had for cheep to for around 75 bucks. ... makes me want to upgrade.

Too bad these aren't REAL Chieftec/Chenming cases, now those rocked. Solid steel, removable internal 3.5in drive caddies with fan mount brackets, the works. I'm still using my full-tower version that I got from TigerDirect on clearance for ~$40.

These Ultra cases seem like a cheap rip-off version to me.

As for the rebate.....got in on the last one of these sales on this case. The rebate arrived and fairly quickly....not as fast as the Corsair rebate that was sent out the same day, but out of the four rebates sent that day, the Ultra rebate came quicker than all but the Corsair one.

As far as the case.....thank goodness the thing is FAR. Almost the cheapest piece of metal I've ever had the displeasure of working in. Coke cans are sturdier than this case. If the rear panel's metal was any thinner, it'd be translucent. The darned thing resonates like a drum....and fit and finish are just two words Ultra wishes were used in describing this case, other than they are nonexistent in a good sense in this case. A decent power supply will bend the rear panel so much I really worried about how long the thing will hang there before the paper thin aluminum just finally fatigues and gives up.

For $40, I'd rather put my $$$ into a CoolerMaster Centurion and be much happier. Or even a cheap Rosewill case. Whole host of better built cases out there for the same money or less.

My take on this Ultra case......it's a pile of goose $hit and being FAR makes it a free pile of goose $hit......and I guess free $hit to some people is just too irresistable.

^^The difference being that all of those alternatives you gave end up costing $20+ in the end, where this one costs $.39. It may be a POS, but it's a damn-near-free POS.

Call em up. I've had good luck with calling them up. What was the reason?

I don't remember; I have to look to see if i can find the postcard they sent me. But that was almost two months ago, so i don't think it would work anymore.
