Did anyone have problmes ordering?

EVERYtime I advance to a new page of the order process ...
The Page Cannon Be Displayed

Sometimes, I can hit the <Back> button and it will take me to the next page or the previous page.

I've closed the window and started again from the link the OP supplied.
The cookies are still on my computer so my order info is still there.
I have to add a second PSU and then remove it from my cart to find my info already filled in. I can't get to the page to enter my CC info.
Every page I've been to in the order process tells me it's in-stock.

The Radio Shack banner and column headings appear at the top of the page and then I get the cannot display error telling me to click Refresh or to try later.

<Refresh> does nothing.
<Back> was actually advancing to new screens in the checkout process.
It did flash the CC page once but dropped back to cannot be displayed.
<Back> does nothing but give me the cannon be displayed error now.

Ok i called to clear it up and they admitted that the way the rebate is printed is ambiguous. Anyhow a copy of the upc for them will be sufficient.

yes, it's on their web page, that's obvious, but where?

What are the specs on that memory; I can't find any latency info?

ANYONE? Bueller?... Bueller?

I looked and looked but couldn't find any actual specs, and I am not going to take a chance.

buyer beware, onrebate.com is tricky and has alot of complaints. first off, after waiting 3 months, you either recieve your rebate or get a denied status through their online status check. I recieved 2 and got denied one.

If you recieve your rebate, you have to worry about the check bouncing. If you did not recieve the rebate, their 1-800 # is a gimmick and no one will ever pick up. The email listed on their website is a fake also, they don't reply them.

The only thing that makes them different from most other rebate companies is they make it hard to contact them. After googling around i did manage to find a contact for their company and get my rebate accepted, but the 1-800 # and email on their main site leads to dead end for me with multiple trys. along with other people.

I read that accepting paypal payments through them might be safer than worrying about bouncing checks.

all in all, keep copies of everything for this rebate company. They try their best to keep your money. probably because they do alot of free after rebate deals.

I plan to avoid onrebate.com from now on.

thanks linjy. any company that does business like that isn't worth getting involved with. hope all yall get paid like you are supposed to tho!

I couldn't complete the order after numerous attempts.

I could sign-up for their newsletter but couldn't enter my CC info.

The Payments page loaded for an instant before dropping to cannot be displayed.

well i ordered and started the rebate process on the one from the mfg website. It asks you if you want to expedite the rebate for $5.50. Supposedlly once they receive the documentation they are supposed to turn it around quickly. So I go through this process and they email you a page to print out and send in with the upc and original invoice. One of the last items on the page says please allow 1 to 2 weeks after mailing your rebate application to receive an uptdate to your status. ???? Looks like another con job to me.

RadioShackDOTcom brings up Radioshack.com
A search of that website for Catalog #: 55004731
brings up the item in question. Looks like I could order another but alas, no rebate on the next one.
OK, I hate rebates as much as the next guy. If I don't get them both ,well, you all remember the Discount Tire TV add with the little old lady and the plate glass window???

Taken from a post at rip-off report where some guy is claiming he is entitled to his rebate even though he forgot to sign the form. Nadia has offered to help him, even though he didn't follow the directions.

There are others Nadia is helping...people who sent in product labels instead of UPC codes, people that admit they were late in sending in their forms, etc.

One guy claims "Tiger has all their rebate forms in .pdf format, that means you need to download Adobe reader...who has Adobe reader? this is ridiculous!" LOL.

I think there is a little story behind everyone's "I never got my rebate" claim.

-dot Is and cross Ts, PRINT CLEARLY
-read and re-read. Check dates and places for signatures.
-re-read again.
-if you are really intent on getting your rebates MAKE COPIES. They will get you on not having copies. It's a hassle, but it's like "rebate insurance"
Me:
3 checks for $135 in my hand
4 rebates pending, 2 approved and mailed
~45 rebates sent over 3 years, all received (I have had to follow up on ~5). I pretty much buy all my parts with rebates.

how is this a con job? You are snail mailing your proof to them, they need to receive it and then process it. 1-2 weeks seems like pretty good time window for all of that to happen, IMO.

djspl:
how many of those rebates were young america or other reputable rebate clearinghouses and how many were "others" like GEM or these tools at onrebate? The mere fact that onrebate is associated with Tigerdirect tells me most of what I need to know and lingy's post tells the rest.

my experience is that some businesses do business honorably and others don't. I choose to deal with the former and not with the latter.

yup, thats the lady i emailed, very fast response, but who has the time to search for contact info for a rebate company when they are suppose to be easily accessible through their main website. Also that number doesnt have live CSR. The number just sits there and ring ring ring.

like you, I have done many rebates in my time and have not been turn down by any, I know the process. Many high and low dollar rebates. The trick is like you said, make copies and follow the instructions.

but this company is one of the many where you actually have to worry that you might not recieve the money even after following directions.

Plus not many people are experienced with rebates, so they tend to lose money to companies like onrebate. I believe the people on anand have the know how on tracking a contact, but people like my dad or older generation wouldnt know to search google for a contact and etc.

If you are some super rebate engine, great, but I am almost a normal human and I fubar my rebates all the time. On average rebates only cost the company about 20% of the potential amount, but work great in moving old product. Still works on me, and I know I won't get half of them.

In reply to you djspl........the con job is that none of this is disclosed while you are initially on their web page making a choice between expediting the rebate or not. In making that decision I think its a pretty important piece of information, don't you?

The odd thing is they don't even show it as out of stock. I couldn't find it at all on their website.
