Web-rebates is finally showing my rebate submission as "Processing".

OnRebate said the check is in the mail.

I'll feel better when this is truly a "free" power supply. Right now, it's still a $100 power supply with questionable reliability!

I have received e-mails from both On-Rebate and Radio Shack saying my rebates have been received and approved. On-Rebate said it would ship w/in 8 weeks and I got the "your rebate has been mailed" e-mail 2 days later. What a sigh of relief!

Ive used this power supply for over a year and 4 months in an overclocked p4 system and now my current overclocked amd64 system. Never had a problem with it.

Well everyone, gotta add myself to the list... of people that had this PS fail on them within the first week. Such a beautiful PS... and the only reason why i risked it was because its modular... and thats so rare.

Used it to replace a $15 400W PS in a nforce2 system built 3 years ago or so. The $15 PS ran without any problems for 3 years... and this $100 thing fails in the first week? Just rediculous. It truely is worth $0.00. *PoP* and it was dead. Dual 80mm fans and the thing is not only the loudest PS I've owned... but the hottest.

Has anyone sent this PS back under warranty with success? First time I'll ever be sending anything in under warranty. ever.

Well I've said it before and I'll say it again. They're junk, but it's largely because they're rated for 500W.

Pretend the labels on these read 300W and you'll be ok. Buy one to replace a failed PSU on an old system or for a basic integrated PC, not for what most of us here would call our main rigs today.

Add me to the list too please. Running two instances of prime95 uses 253 Watts according to my Kill-O-Watt; too bad cause it had nice stable voltages and the pretty green light, Ahhh.....yes many a romantic night was spent basking in it's amorous glow!! Actually only about seven nights:| dam POS must be on a timer or something.

any feedback on replacement from those of you who had these fail (lifetime replacement0?

given reports on problems with reliabiliity, wonder if they'll discontinue these and replace with something like the Ultra-x 500W PSU, which seems to be ok according to what I've read on this forum.....

What good is free if it destroys your other hardware...:disgust:

Died after a couple of months. Ultra's 'customer support' leaves much to be desired. I'm not even interested in getting a replacement. I wouldn't want this JUNK in my computer.

I burned out 2 motherboards with this power supply. Everyone I know with this power supply has never had an issue. RadioShack would not replace the item, only return it. So let the buyer beware.

- Not ok, we just get tired of arguing with those who lack the technical skills to assess a PSU.

- Ultra products have to be derated to their true capability meaning margin is too low for a system endowed enough to blow this one out. Their "500W" is equivalent to another of their "500W" units because they use the misleading momentary peak, not continuous MTBF rating system for wattage.

- If your PSU fails get the replacement then ebay it or use it in a far less power hungry system. Get something more apropriate for the higher powered system.
