Ultra X-Connect 400w Black Modular PSU - $20 AR

I've had excellent experience with the Powmax Demon 480w, had them running perfectly stable in 3 machines so far, all 3 of them being gaming machines too

Oh, and it's only $30 no rebates at PCClub (goto pcclub.com to see if there's a store near you), if not, newegg and other places online have it for similar price, but you'll have to pay shipping.

Think what you want, but I've had nothing go wrong with any of the 3 same Powmax Demon psus I've bought and had for 6-12 months.

You're wrong...this notion that Ultra-X is a rebadged Powmax PS has been dispelled many times in many threads.

Of course things can change, but as of ~2 months ago Youngyear made at least the 500-watt Ultra-X PS and Youngyear appears to be an okay PS company:

I bought one from Fry's and its junk.. Its dead and there is no actual visible reason for it to be dead. Went to bed, and when I got up no functional PSU. No surges or anything. I had to swap out my card, and downgrade until I can find a decent PSU.

That sucks! I just got one from Fry few days ago. Without any computer or components to test (building new PC), I won't be able to know whether it works or not. I think I better return it before it's too late.

How long ago did you buy it and when's the actual "manufactered" date (if you know). I ask because apparently, the Ultra X PS were reportedly not made well prior to October of 2004 and after this time, they improved quite a bit (perhaps they changed suppliers?).
