You can see the Ultra X-Connect here

You can see the OCZ here

Can I have opinions on which PSU is better only regarding quality.

I am an overclocker and need a good power supply. My current PSU's 12V and 5V rails are running a little low.

I kinda want to go with the ultra because of the uv cables and such, but if it is less quality then I will go with the OCZ.

If your wondering how much power my system needs , look at my specs below

OCZ without any doubt.

On second thought, why are you replacing your current PSU?Is it not working properly?
What are you measuring your rail outputs with? If your answer is the MB Bios or an OS GUI interface to the MB,then please save yourself the money. They do not report voltages & temperatues properly.Exact measurement can only be attained by external means with precision tools.
Bottom line is,is your system functioning like it should? If the answer is "yes" then leave it be.
I'm getting a notion that you're just really looking to "disco" up your computer since you mention the disco glow cables.
At that I can only shake my head and wonder. It's a frikken PSU for a frikken computer for christs sake. Not some retro 70's disco museum exhibit.
Important things are quality, spec's.Those should be your considerations.

x-connect.
I have the black one, and i love it. It seems like a gimmick that you can plug in what you need, but it really works and it works well. There are a lot of good reviews out there, thats what helped me to decide to get it.

If you go out and read some of the reviews, it maintains it's power very well. Almost every review i read they tried to load it down, and it performed fantastic. I don't overclock my rig, but i have:

amd 64 3000+
1 gig corsair 2700
bfg 6800gt 256
2x happauge pvr-250
120 mb maxtor
160gb samsung
liteon dvd+-r/rw

and it's done well, and the case stays cool. It's quiete with the two 80mm fans.

I have the solid black one, it's under 100 bucks. It doesn't have the lights and isn't see through, but it's a good powersupply, and that is why i wanted it.

I also have the x-connect, and must say I'm extremely happy with it. voltages are very stable, and it runs very quietly (I can't hear it above my 6800 fan). My only note would be if you have a sideways HDD cage such as in the case below, then you'll have to run a small molex wire from the HD's to the power connector fromt the x-connect, as the x-connects molex connectors will not bend sharply enough to fit.

I was also debating this same question.

X-Connect vs Ocz power stream.

I went with the X-Connect, becuase it takes up less spaces and is much simpler.

I have the X-connect and is IMHO the best looking and almost the quietest PSU.

The cables it comes with are amazingly HQ and its power stats are unbeatable.

I also did quite a bit of research before purchasing my Ultra X-Connect, and I must say that I was not disappointed. Besides the constant power(compared to only SPIKING at 500W), the biggest reason I bought one was the modular cable system. It made building and wiring a breeze, and like Tylanner stated, the cables are very high quality. I use all of the cables so the modular system doesn't exactly save me any space when all is said and done, but the unit is quiet and performs beautifully. Another thing to consider: If peripherals come to the market in the next few years requiring a new type of power connection(like SATA), you can be sure that Ultra will have new replacement cables available for their X-Connect. They shipped me free SATA connectors after I bought the PSU that didn't have them in the box. Props to Ultra for an extremely well-built product. As you can see, my system uses plenty of power:

AMD Athlon XP mobile 2400@ 2.47ghz(215*11.5, 1.675 Vcore)
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Bios 1012
Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL
BFG GeForce6800 Ultra OC(440, 1200 stock!)
WD Raptor 74gb SATA HD
Maxtor 250gb SATA HD
Lite-On 16x Dual layer/format DVD-RW
A-Open DVD-Rom/CD-RW combo
Sony Floppy drive(my computer can still fart!)
Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU (titanium)
Thermaltake Xaser III (8 case fans + controller)
Thermaltake Volcano 12 extreme HSF w/ AS Ceramique
Windows XP Pro SP2

I would compare the specs on the x-connect and the OCZ Modstream. Trying to remain unbiased, you get what you pay for and with the OCZ you get a 3 year warranty with no hassles.

I thought OCZ has a reputation of having the worst service and support that's even illegitimate and have been sued for it?

That was a while back, but suffice it to say, they've rebounded nicely.

I just ordered the OCZ ModStream, and I am really excited about it. Its got great specs, is cheaper than the 2 you are looking at ($81) and is modular. Take a look at it:

First of all your comparison is flawed, I think. A better comparison is the X-connect to the OCZ Modstream. I had it narrowed down to the OCZ Modstream and the X-connect. I would have bought the modstream if they had color options, maybe. In the end it was the Modstreams lower plug count, lack of color, and the goofy UV connnectors and shrink on the wires. Both are great PSU's though. If I would have had a different case I would have chose the Modstream

Now if you are going strictly for serious over clocking, I don't think it is even think the choice is arguable. Forget the Modstream and the X-connect; the OCZ Powerstream is what you want, period!
