Mine arrived the other day. Just put it in a machine last night, booted up fine and seems to work nicely.

Actually there are at least 3 different offers / rebates that have been posted for Ultra power supplies from Onrebate.

UL-2535 via Radio Shack.

UL-2605 via Outpost.

UL-2650 via Outpost.

Sometimes the offer has been FAR, other times $5 or $10.

Personally, I am in for three of these for $9.98 total. This does not include the one from last summer's FAR deal, which has been working just fine in my home machine ever since.

Thanks, OP, I had not heard about this latest one!

Every time this gets posted, people want to diss the PSU without bothering to search for reviews.

If you have purchased one before, make sure you don't buy another one during the same rebate period. For the price, it definitely wouldn't hurt to have a "backup" PSU around.

IMHO, Ultra is discounting these because they have just released a 500-watt version with active PFC and will probably be doing an entire product line refresh.

Make sure you do the rebate right the first time too. Onrebate does not accept resubmissions. Two quick tips for the rebate that a lot of people on the ultra forums screwed up on

1) use the printing label that it asks you to print out DO NOT WRITE THE ADDRESS BY HAND ON THE ENVELOPE
2) A copy of the invoice does not equal a copy of your email confirmation. The invoice is received in the mail with the product and that is what you need for the rebate

Everything else is standard stuff. I paid a few extra bucks to have expedited shipping and I put arrival confirmation on it since I hate rebate companies like this that are so strict and "final" on their decisions. I ended up paying 12 bucks for this psu, but that's still a great deal.

Oh, make sure you keep a copy of your invoice for the warranty. Ultra has a strict 30 day policy now for the timeframe in which to register your PSU for the lifetime warranty. Why? a bunch of jerks registered their psus a couple years after they bought the product when it broke so they now require invoices to match it within 30 days of the purchase date and registration on their website

good psu though i did a lot of research on it and this psu doesnt have horrible reviews other than the usual "its loud" commentary...but for the price that doesn't bother me one bit.

?? I bought one a couple of weeks ago from Outpost but it had a different program number than this one, so do you think applying for this rebate will be ok? Thanks!

What you receive with the product from Outpost is a "Packing List" and on the back of it is an RMA form and RMA label, so don't send them the original. I sent them a copy of the packing list and invoice and had no problems receiving the rebate. You can print a copy of your "Invoice" from Outpost's site.

I also bought the 2605 Black power supply and since this is 2650 and the upc code is different will they honor the rebate?

Well...yes and no. They don't accept more than 1 MIR submittal, but if you have an issue, they'll accept photo-copies of your submittal. As alway with MIRs, it's sorta up to the discretion of the CSR.

I had some problems with my very first OnRebate MIR, but since then, I've had no issues for the past ~5 rebates through them.

Soooo tempting...I bought 2 of these in the last two months. The first rebate ($35) already came back and the second one ($50) has been approved (notified via email). So there is no problem with onrebate.com as long as you follow the instruction carefully. Can't speak for the performance of the psu, though; they are still sitting in the box. Can't beat a $5 backup, though.

most vendors don't mail the invoice with the package. Some e-mail you one, or direct you to print it online (Newegg). In the case of RadioShack, you have to go online to get it. Read the rebate instruction carefully; they can get tricky. For example, this on-rebate ultra psu rebate require you to cut the address label from the rebate form and paste it on the envelope. It's almost like a con game.

Same happened to me. Onrebate denial card listed a phone number for re-submissions. I emailed Ratshak and they sent an invoice. sent it to Onrebate and now all is well.

Yeah luckily Onrebate was cool enough to tell me how/where to get an invoice, and said Radio Shack will email one, but not by default, you actually have to request it from RadioShack. THat is somethuing I call shady as who expects the requirement of you having to track down your own invoice when usually it is supplied by the vendor you purchase an item from via online or through the mail included with the package. And I printed a copy of the transaction at the time of purchase online and yet that is still NOT considered an invoice according to Onrebate.com.

Damn, this sounds very shady indeed. Can you report these assholes to BBB? I know my bro got scammed by eVGA for a rebate and got them to change the rebate status after contacting BBB.

woh, slow down with the accusation there. I've gotten all my rebates back from Outpost, which is the online division of Fry (I would assume their rebates are handled by the same rebate house). It's the buyer's responsibility to provide all the required documents or follow the sometimes idiotic procedures, such as cutting the mailing label from the rebate form. It's also a good idea to keep a copy of the paperwork in the event of dispute. Yes, the rebate process can be tricky (after all, they hope the majority of people don't submit it, or submit it erroneously), but that's the reason it exists in the first place (otherwise the vendor would just discount the price). I agree there are bad manufacturers (such as Soyo) that intentionally deny rebates, even when it's merited (much like health insurance companies that automatically deny a certain percentage of the claims), but for the most part, large stores do honor the rebates.
