ummm... what is burning an ISO?

I downloaded a free student version of Novell Netware to experiment with, but it has to be burned as an ISO file.

all right, call me a big ol' dummy, but we all are until we've done it once or twice (and then become the gurus the dummies ask questions of!)

So, is there a thing with Nero that does ISO? Whatever the heck that is? It won't work as it is off the hard drive....

Nero should be able to burn it. Goto File, then there should be some sort of "Burn Image" option.

ISO = a CD image file

ISO images didn't burn very well with Nero which is why I recommended Blindwrite, then again if you download (or have) the latest version of WinRAR, you can extract the ISO into it's directory structure then use Nero to burn it like burning files as normal.

For isos that aren't something I need to keep for a long time, I just mount them with daemon tools and install them. Daemon tools takes cd or dvd images and makes virtual drives out of them so you don't have to bother burning it to a cd.

this is the best way, IMO. you can mount the ISO using daemon tools and just install the program, or use Nero's copy-CD function.

One problem after the CD copy function with Daemon tools, you'll have to remount the CD (if you're still going to be using it) because for some reason although the CD shows it's still there, it doesn't show up any files on the ISO until after remounting

i love daemon tools. It's handy. Though i think Nero has a image mounter as well. Don't know how good that is.
