Un-Hackabel Hardware Firewall???

Hi!


A few months ago I say reportage in the TV about (I think someone from Canada) a guy that provide a hardware firewall that is un-Hackable (What personally not belive ). The guy says the firewall will be costs under 150 $.

Does anyone have some information about this firewall?
Or does anyone have a good experience with a hardware firewall?

Riiiiight. Just about anything is hackable. Cisco's PIX firewalls are known to be some of the best hardware firewalls.

I've heard of it, its called "unplug your router you stupid wank", not a great name, but it works, nobody can get in.

I'm actually kinda interested in opinions on it.

I'm skeptical myself, but considering the reward they had out with no one being able to hack it, that's pretty decent.
I've also had customers who have comments on how they are impressed with it, but i cannot say for myself as i don't have it yet.

Site works fine for me, and its guaranteed to be unhackable...very true. But if you read close, you not only have to prove being hacked with it setup and running, but all you get is to return it for a refund. I don't see them taking any liability for someone trashing your setup or stealing anything vital.

I think its marketing crap. Looks like its a hardware NAT firewall with an monitoring process (aka, intrusion detection and prevention, but don't tell their marketing dept).

You won't see me buying that.

Looks like "Yet Another Firewall/Router" to me, except they've thrown in even more buzzwords than usual, as well as made up a few of their own.

Real-time Packet Authorization (RPA?) allows only requested information into the computer, keeping all unsolicited visitors out.

Cool! I could have sworn it was just a packet filter! Better throw my OpenBSD firewall out so I can get RPA(TM).

Dropping ICMP is a no-no.

Of course, I do it. But the next firewall ruleset in place I won't! I swear it, or something.

Too expensive for the home market, not good enough for the enterprise market. I'll stick to my proven free solution.

There's no such thing as an unhackable firewall. If you try hard enough, you can stop maybe 99% of hackers, or 99.5%. But someone will always be able to get in. There's no such thing as unhackable...
