One of the symptoms of myalgic encephalomyelitis (aka chronic fatigue syndrome) is particularly vivid nightmares. In my case they had become rarer over the recent years but there's been a recrudescence of the buggers lately. The one I had today was particularly unsettling.
In it, I was helping a priest and a couple of other people perform an exorcism on a little girl. After a particularly harrowing session, they had all fallen asleep while I was 'mounting guard' sorta. it was night time and all was quiet when I started to hear tapping on the window. This was like a second floor apartment or something because no one should have been there without a ladder. When I went to pull open the curtain and check, there was a little boy with snakelike scaly skin and snake eyes 'glued' to the wall and window like Spiderman. That's when I woke up. I was drooling a bit and my neck hurt (shouldn't have doubled my pillows I guess).
That mix of the Exorcist and Salem's Lot was freaky. Think I'll sleep with a light on tonight.
