Unable to boot into W98 after adding ATA100 PCI card

I already had my Maxtor 45 GB HDD running dual boot W98 / W2K.
Added the Maxtor ATA100 card and now I cannot boot into W98. I am, however, able to boot into W2K without any problems. When I select W98 from boot loader screen, it just goes blank.
If I switch everthing back to using the on-board controller, both OS's will boot.

Any ideas?

Well, I had a similar problem once when I lost my Win2k bootloader. But that was after putting in a new CD-RW drive. I think what happens is when you change your drive layout around, windows gets upset and cant find the boot loader - atleast that is my theory. You may want to go into Win2k, back up important stuff and reinstall windows98. Rather drastic perhaps, but Im not sure if there is any option. You shouldnt lose anything in the reinstall, but you may, so backup. Hope this helps you a little bit, sorry I dont know more.
