Unable to create 3 TB Bootable Raid0

[Mir96TA]

I cannot figure why I cannot create a bootable 3TB Raid 0 Volume.
When ever I try to create 3 TB Array Volume; it become (Un bootable)
MB is Gigabyte P35C DS3R
HDD are 3 Sata WD 1001FALS
Here is a screen shot what I am talking about ICR Screen
Now if I reduce the Size of the Volume then it become bootable
Can some body explain to me what is going on here ?

Master Boot Record only goes up to 2TB. GUID goes past 2TB. What OS are you planning on using? Mac OS, Vista x64, and Win7 x64 support booting off of a GUID formatted partition.

XP and Win7
Also in XP disk management do not see either and in setup XP cannot access the drive
Intel Matrix and device manager see it just fine

You won't be able to boot off of 3TB with XP.

I can't even get that far. Look at the scren shot. It says non bootable
in Win XP I can't see this drive as a Volume at all.
Device Manager and Intel Matrix software see is just fine

MBR only supports up to 2TB. GUID can support more than 2TB but it won't be bootable.

Besides, 3 x 1TB RAID 0 in my honest opinion is a terrible idea and just asking for trouble.

Vista x64 with SP1 and Win7 x64 support GUID being bootable. All 32-bit OS and XP x64 cannot.

IIRC, XP 32-bit can't even see or use GUID partitions period, not even for data drives.

So far I have notice even if I boot of from different HDD I cannot see 3 TB through Diskmanagement or Disk Part.
Device Manager and Intel Matrix software can see the volume just fine.
I yet to try Win7 64

In short, a 3 TB volume is completely unusable in XP. It won't be bootable in either XP or Vista or W7.

To build a 3TB volume in Vista or W7, you'll have to create a GPT partition. It can only be used for storage and not as a boot disk.

Yes, on EFI-based systems. I didn't mention it because the OP and most of us don't have EFI-capable motherboards.

Edit: There may be more EFI-capable motherboards than I thought. It used to be just Intel servers, but it looks like Gigabyte and MSI, at least, are claiming the ability to do EFI with P35 and P45 boards.
