Unable to Enable DHCP

Namely, I cannot get Online with my 360 until I can enable DHCP. Please forgive me, but I have barely slept in the passed two days due to an extreme amount of editing and extra term papers for my classes, so I am going to just paste what I wrote in my other topic from a different site.

I have been trying to get my wireless working so I can play Live, but the IP Address Test fails every time. It says that I do not have DHCP enabled on the router, yet I cannot find that option anywhere.

Also, my friend's PC is hooked into the router and mine is on the wireless adapter. I am playing my 360 on my PC monitor, through my PC. I never had any problems with this when I was connected directly into the router, but since I don't own an Ethernet cable long enough to reach from my room to my roommate's, I must figure out how to get my wireless to work with Live.

Now, I have checked both mine and my roommate's configurations, and they both say that DHCP is enabled, yet my 360 is still unable to "generate" its own IP Address. Since it has the same IP as my PC, the Internet Connection Tests for X-BOX Live fail every time.

Do you have a WEP key on the wireless? Are you sure your 360 is hitting your AP? Are you doing any sort of MAC filtering?

Ummn, what. Do you mean you're using your pc as an access point or does the 360 have its own $100 wireless adapter.

You can always set a static ip, look at the settings on your computer and add a few to the ip address and then just copy the rest of the numbers.

I have no idea what that means. When it comes to wireless, I am completely inexperienced with it since I have been using this wireless adapter for about two months now.

I am using my PC's wireless adapter. There is no way in hell that I am going to spend that much money on my 360 when I can just use my PC's adapter. My friend plays his consoles on his wireless adapter and has no problems. I have tried to get him to help me, but since he is at a different college, it makes it nigh impossible.

As for setting a static IP, what do you mean by that? Static for the 360 or the PC?

Honestly, if you both could elaborate more on what you said, it would be greatly appreciated.

ur 360 doesn't have a wireless adapter built in? yeah the 360 doesn't have a wireless adapter but its just a guess I only have a PS3 and it has the wireless adapter built right into the console.

Well, I have DHCP enabled on all of the Network connections, but it still fails.

The only other thing I can think of would be something wrong with a WEP or WPA Key Lease. One of the suggestions said to update the key(s) on my network and then on the console.

I shall look around in the network and see if I can find anything. If all else fails, I will require assistance on this.
