I know all about the first encounter. He saw what he thought was a suspicious person and followed him.
And I'm saying all of that doesn't matter, because when Z finally did catch up with the kid, he did not jump him, he asked him what was his name and why was he there. So even if the kid was scared about someone following him, if someone is just looking to jump your ass, they are not gonna stop to ask your name. You still haven't addressed my point here.
Zimmerman said he had stepped out of his truck to check the name of the street he was on when Trayvon attacked him from behind as he walked back to his truck, police said. He said he feared for his life and fired the semiautomatic handgun he was licensed to carry because he feared for his life

It does contradict what Z said though.
One thought though. This could fit in with the girl's statement. Z meets T. Asks him what he's doing there. Turns around and walks back to truck. T attacks out of fear. struggle and shot.
Or it could be contradicted by the girl's statement since my first thought on reading Z's statement is that he couldn't find the boy, had turned back when the boy turned the corner and attacked.
Your quote is not in that article you linked.
The girl heard someone ask Martin what he was doing, and heard Martin ask why the person was following him, Crump said. The girl then got the impression that there was an altercation in which the earpiece fell out of Martin's ear and the phone went out, Crump said.
But, as NPR's Joel Rose reported this morning, Florida law may mean prosecuting Zimmerman could prove difficult.
"As long as you are somewhere you have a lawful right to be, if someone attacks you, the words of the statute are you can meet force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe that that is necessary," Jeffrey Bellin, who teaches law at Southern Methodist University, told Joel.
That law is known as the "Stand Your Ground," or "Shoot First" law and it's been controversial since it was passed in 2005. Basically, The Christian Science Monitor reports, the law gets rid of the English Law concept of "duty to retreat" from a situation that is dangerous outside your home.
Bellin told the Monitor that the law makes judging self defense harder for prosecutors because it could potentially negate "the extent to which a person claiming self-defense may have aggravated the situation."
"It's hard to imagine that this couldn't have been resolved by [Zimmerman] leaving, so that no one would've gotten hurt, so this is a case where the Stand Your Ground law can actually make a legal difference," Bellin told the paper. "Even if you have suspicions about what motivated this, and you think there was a racial element and no justification for this shooting, the fact is he had no obligation to retreat under the law. If prosecutors don't have the evidence to disprove the claim of self-defense, they won't be able to win."
Does not compute.

It's been changed now to this:
So CNN obviously was not happy with their paraphrasing. Still, the fact remains that there was a verbal exchange between the two. Z asked wht he was doing there. The kid asked why the guy was following him. It should have been worked out, and the kid gone on his way. Someone decided to get belligerent, and I don't necessarily think it has to be Zimmerman.
just throwing a hypothetical. I stated before that the girl's testimony likely gives cause for a trial, but if they don't take him to trial, there probably will be good reason.

At the 2:21 mark, Zimmerman clearly says the words fucking coons under his breath...
I would love to hear the unedited tape... why do the police continue to try and cover up for this guy...

That's a strange hypothetical though, if he's walking BACK to his truck, i think T's fear would subside quite a bit.
It more fits with the story about Z being an idiot instead of being an evil racist murderer.
Licensed to carry a firearm and a student of criminal justice, Zimmerman went door-to-door asking residents to be on the lookout, specifically referring to young black men who appeared to be outsiders, and warned that some were caught lurking, neighbors said. The self-appointed captain of the neighborhood watch program is credited with cracking some crimes, and thwarting others.
They discussed the topic with Zimmerman when the watch captain knocked on their door late last year. Zimmerman seemed friendly, helpful, and a pretty cool dude, Ibrahim Rashada said.
He came by here and talked about carrying guns and getting my wife more involved with guns, he said. He said I should have a weapon and that his wife took classes to learn how to use one.
I do have a weapon, but I dont walk around the neighborhood with mine!
Actually, he does not walk around the neighborhood at all.
I fit the stereotype he emailed around, he said. Listen, you even hear me say it: A black guy did this. A black guy did that. So I thought, Let me sit in the house. I dont want anyone chasing me.

Freaking hell, you are chased by some guy at night, you have no clue who he is, and why he is chasing you. You are going to stop and think oh he is asking for my name, so it must be some neighborhood watch guy.
Are you seriously asking that stupid question?
i agree. the kid was running because he was scared. he wan'ted to get get away from Z.
IF Z had turned and walked away the kid would be gone. he would be booking it back to his dads house.
i don't see T attacking him at that point.
Here is a local newspaper article about the incident. It talks to a few people about Mr. Zimmerman.
http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/...von-martin-a-habitual.html#storylink=misearch
There was concern about crime in the area and apparently the worst thing that Mr. Zimmerman did while on neighborhood watch in that community before Feb. 26 was perhaps engage in racial profiling...
It was a completely avoidable tragedy. Did Mr. Zimmerman go out looking to kill someone? I don't believe that no. He's not guilty of murder. It was, however, pretty damn foolish of to go off chasing the person he ended up shooting.
However this bears being repeated.
This incident is another illustration as to why Florida's law on self defense in stupid and needs to be changed.
Prosecutor's were against the law and since its passage some P.D.'s in Florida stopped investigating shootings where a claim of "self-defense" is made. That's a pretty damn good indication that the law is too broad.
Not stupid at all. If someone is following me yes I'm gonna be scared, but when they stop and say something like 'what are you doing here?', that is not an aggressive sort of statement, that is someone who is defending or worrying about me. That is going to ease my fear, at least for a moment... I'm still gonna be on my defense, but I'm gonna answer the guy, since I'm not doing anything wrong, and then hope he leaves me alone.
