Actually they did have evidence, plenty of it. In hindsight, the mistake the prosecution made was overreaching in their charges. They should have charged him with assault, manslaughter, criminal negligence, or stalking. The self defense wall was too great to be scaled.

Let the tears flow... /pat /pat let them flow...

(I don't know how to really do a pat on the back, so that is my best guess.)

I can't wait to see the defamation lawsuits GZ files against those who have lied/defamed him and would fully support GZ bringing forth a malicious prosecution lawsuit.

His legal team is already moving fast with bringing charges against media outlets for manipulating evidence to make him appear racist.

Sunny Hostin...I swear that woman is brain damaged.

She's actually just the perfect example of someone who excells in the use of doublethink, while of course not being concious of doing so.

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself – that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink
To a degree everyone suffers from this disablity, it helps us survive, but it is taken to different lengths and when it is used to gain power of other people or groups of people thats when it really rubs me the wrong way.

Sunny is evil in her intent without having the integrity to see it. The TM lie is becoming a setback to the black community because of folks like Sunny perpetuating deceit (granted possible unconsciously) on the issue at hand. A lot of terrible things started out this way, the war on drugs, Iraq War, prison system in the USA, corporate welfare, All attributable in their "success" or genesis due to the same tactics that Sunny is using. I'm sure the idiot masses cheered for the above noted failures in the same way they cheer for Sunny, completely ignorarant of the pain that will be levied on them for buying in to the deceit being perpetuated.

Where the prosecution went wrong was by making it so easy for GZ not to testify. Their #1 strategy from the get go should have been to get him on that stand somehow. Instead they entered into evidence his statements to police and the Sean Hannity interview. At that point GZ had nothing else to add so why take the abuse of the prosecution pointing out every inconsistent detail in his various statements?

Imagine if the verdict had gone the other way. It very easily could have. Difficult as it is over an internet forum, try putting the shoe on the other foot. Please show some respect.

This man has lost what he feels is right. What I suggest we do is argue logically, and morally, to educate and/or impress upon him our thoughts and feelings on the matter. To honestly explain why we feel this verdict is the right thing.

To me it's a question of Self Defense. Of not having the evidence to refute that claim, and to ask ourselves if that's reasonable, is that okay? Perhaps to examine and outline cases where it is or isn't Self Defense.

Perhaps we can reassure folks on the other side that we aren't out roaming the streets hoping to gun down 17 year old black kids.

Self defense is valid for any of those charges suggested. None of them would have worked, imo.

He's welcome in Arizona. Pro gun majority hispanic population, good luck trying to find him let alone get away with doing anything.

Georgie boy might be getting some money from Corey and the State of Florida if they keep on attacking him and calling him a murderer on TV after he has been acquitted...they have been going on TV shows and attacking GZ.

The office is fun today. I just had to walk out. As soon as one expresses disagreement with the sentiment that GZ should have been found guilty, one is automatically labeled a racist.

THIS is one of the reasons this case got me so upset to begin with.

Can't really argue with you there. I lived in Tucson, that place was like the toilet of the Southwest. Some decent people, but mostly desert trash.

LOL...those were easily explained during the trial already, what is suspect is the pretty little liar Dee-Dee having such perfect recollection of minute details, almost like she rehearsed for the part:hmm: And yet her sad little story still backed up self defense and put into reality that the only one with racial animosity was TM, go figure

I'm not sure strategy played any role in it. Trickery more like it.

The prosecutions opening statement, all emotional, relied on reveling in the topic that GZ was on top of TM during the encounter and that GZ had such mal intent in his heart that he shot TM anyway.

The closing statements from the prosecution did a 180 on that view and had GZ on bottom but still with such mal intent that he wanted to kill TM all along.

West was right i the presser, the prosecution was disgraceful if for only one reason. It wasn't about the law to the prosecution, it was about trickery,.. winning at any cost. Their "strategy" was devoid of facts and full of emotional appeals, clearly an abhorrent thing to use in a court of law when talking about the life of another person.

The deplorable conduct of the prosecution and the DA need to be brought to light.

Get em to explain why. Drawing the racist card is typically used to end conversation, that way the user doesn't face being called out for being an absolute idiot and then having to backtrack.

Everyone in this office is a bleeding heart liberal who thinks that GZ mercilessly chased down and murdered an 11 year old boy trying to eat his skittles. I have no issues whatsoever defending my position, but one accusation of racism and it could be BAAAD for me. (2 of my co-workers here are African American - as charged as this is, one comment from either of them to HR could be a huge issue.)
