HAYWARD, Calif. — Hayward Police arrested a Barstow woman Saturday night for reportedly attacking music legend Lester Chambers after he dedicated a song to Trayvon Martin.

Chambers, the 73-year-old singer of the legendary 1960's music group The Chambers Brothers, was assailed around 5 p.m. Saturday while on stage at Hayward Russell City Blues Festival.

According to police and witnesses, the singer had dedicated Curtis Mayfield’s “People Get Ready” to Martin when 43-year-old Dinalynn Andrews Potter jumped up and shoved Chambers to the ground after allegedly yelling “It’s all your fault!”

George Zimmerman Prosecutor 'Prayed' for Him to Testify

Angela Corey, Bernie de la Rionda, John Guy, and Rich Mantei the four Jacksonville Florida prosecutors all said they respect the jury's decision but believe George Zimmerman got away with murder. (ABC News)

By MATT GUTMAN and SENI TIENABESO

SANDFORD, Fla., July 15, 2013

Florida prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda had "prayed that [George Zimmerman] would have the courage to take the stand," he told ABC News in an exclusive interview Sunday, adding that Zimmerman's "inconsistent statements" would have made him the prosecution's star witness.

In the interview with the four Florida prosecutors who fought to convict Zimmerman, lead prosecutor de la Rionda said, "I prayed that he would have the courage to take the stand but, as we all well know, he's got the right not to."

"Anytime you put in a defendant's statements and a lot of those are self-serving, then usually a defendant will make the decision not to testify because you've got his story out. We felt it was important to get his story out because there were so many lies."

George Zimmerman Prosecutors Reveal What They Think REALLY Happened The Night Trayvon Died

ERIN FUCHS TODAY 1:46 AM

State Attorney Angela Corey and her assistant state attorney Bernie de la Rionda (R) address the media following the not guilty verdict for George Zimmerman in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin at the Seminole County Criminal Justice centre in Sanford, Florida, July 13, 2013.

George Zimmerman’s prosecutors revealed for the first time to ABC News on Sunday that they believe he reached for his gun shortly after he and Trayvon Martin confronted each other.

While Zimmerman says he reached for his gun after the 17-year-old started beating him up, prosecutors believe Zimmerman pointed his gun sooner and that Martin was shouting for help because he saw it.

However, they never presented this theory in court because they lacked evidence.

Juror in George Zimmerman's Trayvon Martin killing trial shopping book on experience

The book by ‘juror B37,’ ‘could open a whole new dialogue about laws that may need to be revised and revamped to suit a 21st-century way of life,’ says her rep Martin Literary Management’s Sharlene Martin. The juror writing the book once described Trayvon Martin as ‘a boy of color.’

One of the female jurors who acquitted George Zimmerman is cashing in on her role in the trial.

The unidentified juror known only as B37 is shopping a book with the help of Martin Literary Management, the company announced Monday.

The juror's book "could open a whole new dialogue about laws that may need to be revised and revamped to suit a 21st-century way of life,” said Sharlene Martin, the firm’s president.

“The reader will also learn why the jurors had no option but to find Zimmerman not guilty due to the manner in which he was charged and the content of the jury instructions.”

I'm sure they were behind Judge Nelson asking GZ before the defense rested. Wouldn't surprise me if they were behind the rumors that GZ wanted to testify.

Thats a insane theory no jury would believe. Who is going to approach a man armed and fight him? Why wouldn't GZ shoot much earlier too instead of getting his ass beat in?

Fuck these prosecutors are stupid. No wonder they lost and basically put on defenses case for them.

So TM really did think he was 10 feet tall and bullet proof. As his friend would say: "That's real retarded, Sir".

Agreed. Plus as Corwin says, a lack of evidence didn't stop them from prosecuting; why the hell would it stop them from arguing what they thought happened?

Let alone any evidence he ever touched the gun including powder burns on his hands from when it was finally fired, you know since they were wrestling for it that whole time

Completely agree regarding the absurdity of the prosecutions case regarding GZ being armed with malicious intention to kill not being anywhere in the same universe with what the evidence showed in this case. Problem is they, the prosecution, are not stupid, they are conniving. Even knowing the absurdity and outright lie of their position, they'd have been happy to put GZ behind bars for life. One of the true evils here is Corey.

Lol. Little conservative punks whining about how unfair life is. Boo hoo, cry cry.

LOLLLLLL. Poor old white man, doesn't know how to deal with it when someone shows intelligent respect for all races. Black, white, brown or Asian, I'm not confined by your prejudices my friend.

LMAO!!!!! I can't wait to see the butthurt when GZ wins hundreds of millions of dollars from NBC and most likely the state of Florida. As well as Corey/prosecution team are disbarred for their violation of Florida law and GZ's rights

What i find interesting is that the people who wanted GZ to go to jail, would be cheering and giving high fives had he recieved a guilty verdict but those that didn't want GZ to go to jail has to be more considerate in how they feel about the case.

Unlikely...stating your opinion is protected speech, even if you're an idiot (see above)

DVC can weigh in, but It's my understanding that individuals enjoy certain protections against egregious types of slander. AC describing GZ as a murderer may be considered going to far.

Institutions and groups do not enjoy the same protections as individuals regarding slander.
