The media doesn't make this a 62500+ post thread.
This is a matter of life and death, literally.
A 17 year old "boy" is dead.
A 28? year old man faces life in prison.
By rights he should be innocent on grounds of self defense. I STRONGLY stand by that. The police stood by that. No one brought charges until... a racial drum beat was marched on, the media picked up and ran with the story, the PRESIDENT commented and personalized the prosecution of Zimmerman.
Then suddenly people stepped forth to rid Zimmerman of his life. He has now spent the last year and a half without freedom. He has been ruined by this, marked for life and forever at risk from terrorist organizations such as the Black Panthers issuing a "wanted dead" poster.
This is a heavily racial and politicized story of whether you have a right to defend yourself. Whether you have a right to keep your life if you DO defend yourself, or if a lynch mob is successfully going to finish what the attacker started.
Are we safe in this country, or not? Is logic, reason, and law going to prevail, or is an innocent man going to by lynched under the farce of a trial based on emotional appeal and lack of evidence?
He has already paid too heavy a price. It's a crime what is being done.
