i got ahold of the early Best Buy ad for this coming Friday. Asylum GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128mb by BFG Tech will be rebated down to 89 !!!!!!

those of u looking for a inexpensive card better get to the store early and buy this Friday!!!

it has a $50 off in store rebate and a $80 mail in rebate.


i have not seen reviews for this card. is this a quality company? there shouldnt be much to complain about though when u are getting a ti 4200 for under 100 bux !!!!

damn, that;s even better than last years geforce3 ti200 deal that had a $50 instant and a $50 mail in rebate. however, if it is anything like last year you are gonna wait for months to get the rebate check back. i waited 9 months before i got my $50 back last year.

last year... i heard the black friday deal in BB was WHACKED!!! meaning... ppl lined out outside BB for the 60gb hd for $50. doors opened... ppl flood in. turns out the hd's weren't even in the computer section. like half an hour later... hd's (and a limited amount i heard) showed up like in the tv section. so for those who plan to camp out BB... just beware of BB's tactics.

what i did was i went out and bought the geforce3 a few days early, and then during the sale i went and got my discount. it's a lot better than worrying about whether i would be able to get a card or not.

i didn't even return it and re-buy it. i just went to the CSR desk with my receipt and asked for a price match. badda bing, $50 instant with a $50 mail in coupon. i like Best Buy.

Heheh yah, this is gonna be last year's GF3 Ti200 fiasco all over again. Best Bet with Worst Buy is to go in sometime this week and purchase it. Then do a PM/Re-buy as Edipis suggested. They are gonna probably start pulling these off the shelves to prevent people from doing this. Also, the CSR desk is one isn't too busy if you get there early on Black Friday, but if you wait too long it gets insane b/c of all the people applying for credit to take advantage of their 0% financing etc.

Btw, BFG is what's left of Visiontek, so you can expect similar quality (good in my experiences) from this card.

Visiontek is in recievership, and the creditors have brought people in to run the company (BFGTech) and decide whats best to do, sell the company as a whole, try to keep it running, or liquidate it's assets.

Read the "WatchDog" column in Decembers MAXIMUM PC ! They sugest to steer clear of the company for now untill tech support and warrenty issues are sorted out.

That would INCLUDE REBATES ! If this $80 rebate is coming from them and not Best Buy themselves, it's a crap shoot at this point.

Luckly i had a new bb open up and was able to get both the videocard (one im using now) and the 60gig hdd without problems.
I was very happy with price and got the hdd rebate within a month... but it took 8 months for the videocard rebate from visiontek.. if this is same company(which seems like what's left of visiontek) I personally wouldnt buy it since its bigger amount and their rebate system is questionable.

But i was happy with the card since it overclocks very well.

It was whacked. I and my friend got there 2 hours before they opened thinking we'd be some of the first in line for a GF3 card. Nope, there was probably 400 people infront of us. THEN, the bastards come out of the doorway with vouchers for the "hot ticket" items and start walking down the line offering them to whoever wants them. There were a few excites shrieks from the very front of the line and then, half an hour later, the guys get to the back of the line with what crappy stuff is left. So, those GF3s were gone before the store even opened and there couldn't have been more than a half doezen of them. It pisses me off, because some of the people who were in line were oblivious to the GF3 deal, but when you walk up to them and offer them the deal and the guys behind them start wetting their pants they tend to think "what the heck?" and take a voucher which they may or may not redeem.

Read the fine print on that BB ad. You'll see "at least 5 available" and "no rainchecks" or something like that ... that means there's no chance in hell you're getting one for that price unless you start camping when they close Wednesday night.

And it really can vary alot from store to store....my store is in a small down of 85K...no Staples or Compusas within 80 miles. There only real competion is CC.

Anyways I cannot pull anything in my store, they will not price match hardly ever and they will screw me in any way they can and go to most any length to avoid giving me a deal on anything........ha ha yet I spent nearly $3500 this year at BB why? Because I f$$$ck em good because I wait and prowl on their mistakes......When I walk into Best Buy , I walk into battle......and I usually win.

Oh and I have to hide my stuff in the store , there is no way I am buying and returning the items because I just know they will try and jack me. Nope I am hiding my stuff. I'll stroll in whistling zippidy do da with a toothpick handging out of my mouth and my hands in my pockets playing with my pocket change walking about as fast as a turtle...around 9:30am after a nice breafast.
