Newegg doesn't carry BFG cards... I just looked. I didn't look at everything, but they carry the MSI G4Ti4200-TD (8870-040) GF4 TI4200 128MB 128bit TV-OUT DVI VGA Card, but it's out of stock. $156, shipped free.

MUSE, roger that, I know Newegg doesn't carry the BFG brand. The ti4200's are mostly reference cards with very few variations. I have never personally heard of BFG. I have been holding off specifically for Black Friday to pre-buy one of these & I missed the early posts, or I too would have pre-bought; (like last years GF3).BUT, out of the 18 cards @ Newegg that are ti4200 w/ 128MB, I would only pass on a few brands/versions that were recommended to steer clear of. I'm sure there are other reputable venders out there with a kick ass card, but I'm looking for a great VALUE(price& features).Newegg is highly respected. Wah, wah, I jus wanna deal, LOL! Getting up at 3 or 4 to be there early just doesnt sound appealing. No guarantees, the crowds, trying to find the damn things once the doors do open..... man I'm bummed. Good luck to all.Smiles

I think so. On a 21" flat Trinitron, my GF3 and a GF4 card on my brother's 'puter both have really good 2-D quality compared to GF2s I've seen. It could be from the use of higher quality parts for RF filtering etc as you mentioned.

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two versions?

just got back from the BB in yonkers,ny...and unsuccessful . got there at 5:50 and about 150 ppl in front of me....cards were gone withing the first minute. hope you guys were successful. now its time to wait for the R9500 to come out!

0720: Made it to Best Buy 0600 waited 20 minutes in line, 5 minutes at customer returns. CSR tried not to give me Rebate. Told him managers on Weds told me they would print, he hit a button and it printed. Done Deal! Now Just wait on the damn rebate. If I don't get it then my final price is $149.99 which is equivalent to the online prices plus shipping.

just got back from my BB in louisville, was first in line. I think they handled it very professionally, controlled the line, handed out vouchers for the super sale items, wasnt one for the g4 4200, but we went inside in order and they had the whole store cordoned off, so everyone stayed in line and didnt run each other over. satisfied customer

not too many people started showing until about 3 am, then it started to pick up slowly. They even had free KK donuts on hand.

Dammit, I was like 4th or 5th in the door, got my gf ti 4200 card, and got the 150 cdrs without a problem, but just noticed, I didnt get the rebate for the cdrs.....Rebate for them is NOT online at the BB website, so I called cust service at the store, and they said I can go back anytime to get the rebate printed up as long as I have the original receipt. Good thing, cuz now I have to go to work

BTW the local walmart was totally mobbed - everyone getting the 27 inch tvs for around 150. Picked up a handful of 5 dollar dvds - Pump up the volume, Lawnmower Man (platinum edition), hooper, sharky's machine, creepshow (first), logans run, the avengers, night shift

dvds I didnt get - house party 2 and 3, the bachelor, stoker ace, major league 2, caddyshack 2, 10, man with 2 brains, joes apartment 1 and 2, + others

Majority of the dvds were dual - widescreen/fullscreen, some are fullscreen only
Too tired from getting up early, but it was still worth it

Just came back from BB... Someone told me to go to return desk to pick-up my Ti4200. I've already ordered it online on Wed for in-store pick-up. The girl @ the return desk was VERY VERY RUDE. I was waiting on line... the guy that the girl was helping was done... so I stepped forward.. and this girl said "I am not ready. You gotta wait." So I waited for 15 sec.. The guy in front of me is now gone... so I looked at her... and she said... "I said that you gotta wait. You have to wait until I call you..."... Hmmm.... new policy?? :disgust: So I wait... she starts rolling her eyes... She starts talking to other CS guys... Then she finally said... "Ok.. next..." So I step up... Show her my receipt... and she said... "You cannot pick this up right now. We are not doing this. Come back @ 3:00PM..." :|

My wife is trying to calm me down... So I stepped out... And... I decided to find the manager. I know who the manager is since I've been there several times. I found the manager... showed him my receipt. And this guy says... "This is not the CONFIRMATION. This is the RECEIPT. We need a CONFIRMATION email."... So I ask... "Well... I have my BB credit card. You should be able to look it up!!" But he insists that I need to bring the CONFIRMATION email... :disgust: So... I said.. "Ok.. I will be back with it... Can I pick it up if I come back with it?"... and he said... "Come back after 2PM..." ... OMG....

This is BB @ Paramus, NJ. I've had a few bad experience with them. Especially the mananger guy. He's very rude...

I will go back this evening. I should be able to get all adjustments since the deal is NOT early-bird deal. I will get my adjustment and use my coupon. Since it's evening... they won't be that busy... so in worst case.. I will do return and rebuy...

I had the same problem with not getting the rebate for the 150 cdrs. I'm going back right now to make sure i get it.

I bought the gf ti4200, the Norcent CD-RW and two hard drive/memory combos o (separate receipts of course, wouldn't want to run afoul of the one rebate per household/address) on Wednesday after work at the Springfield VA BB.

I went in this morning at 0820 and I was out of the store by 0830. No one was in line at the refunds/exchange desk. I thought the cash register was going to run out of paper - it was kicking out so many receipts and rebate forms.

I didn't bother trying to get anything else because the lines were so long and filled with people who are obviously unaware of Anandtech or FW
