Just finished the game and it didn't crash once on me.
Must say I didn't like it as much as I was going through it as I did for the first couple hours. The climbing got boring with a lot of standing around looking for the next ledge you can reach. The combat felt uninspired but I suppose after 4 games it just didn't evolve much. The chase scenes seemed to rely somewhat on luck. Be in the wrong spot by an inch and get crushed and try again think previous games were the same way. Some of the characters weren't fleshed out enough IMO and just felt like they didn't know what direction to go. The ending though seemed fitting for everyone and I thought it was a great ending to the series. I did expect some type of supernatural aspect or maybe a big twist near he end that we never got. Seems they took the safe route for the story on that front which is fine. I just really wish a couple of the characters had more background and more of a role rather than to just be the nuisance that appears right before or right after you discover the next clue. The typical "how did all the bad guys get here to the super secret entrance before we did with a full compliment of armored trucks and equipment?" just felt tired and overused. Overall though i enjoyed it. Most of my gripes are nitpicking really. The game is high quality, not really on the same level of Last of Us in terms of story and making you care about the characters but it is still one of the better games to come out on the ps4 or any console really in the past couple years IMO.
The graphics and the sheer amount of details they put into this game seriously blows me away. The wrinkles in their shirts changes as you move, the way how when you get wet, your hair is actually dampened down, instead of just some lazy "wet shine". The way the vegetation moves around you, the foot prints in the sand, or how the vehicles leave their tire tracks... And when you first wake up on pirate island... Wow that was astounding. I thought rise of tom raider looked gorgeous in my PC at ultra settings, but this is just on its own level. Even when you get muddy, just go for a swim or go underneath a water fall and you'll get cleaned up!!
Though I am playing with a xim4, the combat is actually pretty fun... It's annoying how the bad guys avoid your "headshot" aim as well... I like how it differs from 1,2,3 in the sense that it humanized the characters: Nathan isn't all about just mindlessly hunting a treasure now. In fact, there's a scene in the game which I thought: yeah, that's the way I would've handled with my gf had I been in a similar situation lol.
