Finished Uncharted 4, never played 1-3, but did love The Last of Us. U4 was very meh, in comparison, IMO.
(Minor spoilers throughout)
Do any of the prior Uncharted ever address what a terrible person Nathan Drake is? I feel like there was a huge missed opportunity for hilarious dialogue in U4 based on the number of people you murder throughout the game. E.g.:
1) if you make it through the game sneaking by all the bad guys and not killing anyone, you get certain dialogue/the "good" ending;
2) if you only kill enemies if they attack you first (self defense) you get some dialogue/ending about whether it's morally acceptable to trespass into these guys' camps (they were clearly there first) knowing that you'll start a fight, all for material gain;
3) if you straight up murder fools left and right by ambushing them/sniping them from afar, Elena basically divorces you at the end of the game because you are a monster (and she would not be wrong).
I mean, that's not even touching the issue of Nathan Drake sneaking into foreign countries, LAYING WASTE TO HISTORICAL LANDMARKS and stealing their historical relics WITHOUT BOTHERING TO GET THE PROPER PERMITS. I totally want Naughty Dog to do a parody sequel about some Malaysian/Madagascarian treasure hunter who sneaks in the United States, destroys George Washington's historical home while retrieving a hidden map in the basement, then escaping back to Malaysia/Madagascar with some hugely significant American historical relic.
I also think it'd be hilarious if they did a parody sequel that told the story through the eyes of Rafe. He's trying to go after this treasure by doing everything legit--buying Saint Dimas' cross instead of stealing it, getting the proper visas/permits from the foreign countries, paying employees decent wages to perform the excavation/guard work, always being foiled at every turn by notorious pirate bastard Nathan Drake, who's constantly swooping in at the last minute, murdering employees, not bothering to get visas/permits, swiping the treasure, etc. They could do Rashoman-style perspective changes for certain scenes exposing Nathan Drake's perception of events as a lie.
I know I'm taking the story way to seriously, but I think it would be funny if they did a game that revealed what a huge dick Nathan Drake is.
