God this game is hard. Or I'm just really bad at shooting with a console controller. I'm playing on easy and having a tough time.

most likely it I too am also horrible and i know many others are. it also the reason for the great debate on keyboard/mouse vs analogstick. just be a little gentle with it, aim slow and small.

The aiming is pretty loose. I dunno I got used to it pretty quick.

But yah you probably are just really bad cause on hard it only had a few tough parts

Depending on the players gaming style and level of difficulty--around 8 to 12 hours of game time.

anyway, i've played through the first few levels and am very happy with it so far. i've been strictly PC gaming for the last 3-4 years and am now what you could call "thumb retarded". aiming is still a bit difficult, but i'm surprised at how easy it is in this game. i think the difficulty is a little high because of that, but i'm still getting through just fine. as for tearing that some people have mentioned, i've noticed a little bit, but not really much unless you're looking for it. now if i can just get my wife to stop playing it so i can get some more time on it...

I was like that at first as well, but by the middle it was fairly fluid. I think PC gamers are used to precision aim and spend too much time doing it. I had to give up on hanging back and going for head shots and just ran around doing more running and gunning.

As an aside, I haven't noticed any tearing. I do notice motion blur that kicks in while spinning around for more than about a half second.

The motion blur is intentional. Maybe you already know this, but I couldn't tell by your post, so I figured I'd point it out.

Yep. I thought it was a nice touch.

Could someone post a VIDEO that shows tearing? I've seen screenshots, but they don't do anything for me. If I can't notice it in a video, it doesn't matter to me.

Finished this game last night and it was an absolute blast. The music/sound makes the game, I would say even more than the graphics. I agree with pur that the twist is alittle lame and cliche but the ending sorta made up for it. I played on hard and thought it was hard in a few parts but overall was not too bad, far easier than the end of Assassin's Creed (/me shakes fist at AC).

This game exudes what I thought next-gen gaming would be about.

its there if you really look for it, but if youre playing the game its not noticeable. unless youre very sensitive like purbeast it wont be an issue for you.

After 1.5 DAYS I finally got the demo to download. I'm only a few minutes into it (just to make sure that it installed) and the cutscenes are incredible.

Can't wait to get more into this thing!

I'm not too worried about it, because I played another game that he said had this issue (Saints Row) and didn't notice anything. I'm just trying to figure out what it looks like when it happens in the middle of a game and not in a screenshot. It's certainly not going to affect my decision on this game - I'm getting Drake's Fortune regardless. I'd have already started playing it, but my parents were bugging me for Christmas present ideas.

you didn't see tearing in saints row? wow that is like the game that has the worst tearing i've ever seen. even the cutscenes are ridiculously filled with it!

i see you have a 360 ... do you have Bioshock?

if you do, play some parts of the game. then pause it and turn off v-sync in the options and play it some more. you will notice the framerate is a lot faster but you will then see tearing. then go back to the options and turn it back on and compare how the two different ways work.

with vsync on in bioshock the framerate is locked at 30fps, with it turned off the framerate varies and i think it hits 60fps at points, but you will see tearing.

I noticed it maybe once or twice, in hours and hours of game time. It appears that you're hypersensitive to it.

well like the dev of uncharted said, some people notice it a lot, and some people don't even see it at all.

You can force tearing to occur by moving in rapid non-smooth motions. IE: looking left to right really fast. I used to see tearing while flying a chopper in BF2 with vsync off because of the nature of flying a chopper and spinning 360 degrees with the whole map in view. I've started enabling vsync in a lot of titles I play these days because tearing has become one of the more noticeable effects once you start wondering what the hell that is.

As for what it looks like, it looks like someone just shifted the top half of your screen a fraction, creating a horizontal break across the middle of the screen. It lasts very shortly and then it's gone, so its almost like a very quick line going across the screen.

I'm not sure but I think the current state of tearing is being amplified by LCD panels as it was never much of an issue back in the CRT days.

Yep. The combination of the controls, barrels, fast currents, and dudes shooting makes it very not fun.
