I've opened a PS3 for years now and finally I am getting around to playing the Uncharted games. A friend from work lent me both 1 & 2. I've played for a few hours now. The environments and the story/voice acting is pretty good, but the game play itself is just ticking me off... The aiming itself has some kind of weird acceleration that makes it really hard to land shots. I've played other console 3rd person games like Gears of War, and Vanquish and had no problem at all aiming in those games. The combat is just a royal pain. You are rarely ever given enough ammo for a given situation. You have the ability to do some melee combos, but you can never get close enough to an enemy to use them. The enemies themselves take an obscene amount of rounds to kill. Five torso hits from an AK-47 should be enough to take down a standard enemy. Especially since every fight is the same. Enter an empty room... room suddenly floods with enemies... enemies flood you from all directions.... Then figure out how the developer wants you to exit the room, rinse repeat. The camera is also terrible. Sometimes you lose direct control of the camera and it will be pointing at some terrible angle so that you cant see where you're jumping.
I really hope that they have fixed some of these issues in uncharted 2 & 3. I am really having a hard time understanding how a game with such critical acclaim can be so very frustrating.
