The show is pretty shameless with cheap, unjustified just make it up because it's convenient or 'sounds good' crap. Just take these 'visions'.
It's turning into a basic 'corporate villain' story now it seems, with 'the egg' as the prize and target of the evil corporation.
Funny how the only people on the outside who can communicate with the people inside - which is done very little, quite unbelievable - are this 'private security firm'.
Funny how the people inside can't simply send someone outside to report the problem with that company to the authorities. Etc.
I wasn't impressed with how they had Julia so happy to sell out the town and everyone else trading the egg for Barbie. Kind of violated who she is. That's just kind of poor character development, changing characters to make convenient drama - one minute Junior is a psychopath locking a girl up, the next principled person; Big Jim changes a lot, the 'deluded but for the good of the town' very flexible - for example happy to sell out the town last episode.
They do a little better with some of the characters being more consistent, such as Barbie and the 'one of the four' girlfriend whose name I forget.
It's junk food, but still watchable. But cheap.
I've little doubt the 'payoff' of the story seems like it'll be some cheap line like something that happened with the people who found the egg when it landed.
Bringing back Angie next week? More that seems cheap.
