Underated Actors?

This thread has probably been done many times before, but let's do it again.

My vote goes to Sean Bean. You undoubtedly recognize him. I knew him as 006 in the James Bond movies, Errol in Equilibrium and Merrick in the Island. However, what I didn't know was that he played Boromir in LOTR. I can't believe I didn't recognize him!

Looking at his filmography, I'd say he's one of the most (?) underated actors.

there was one that was older that's deleted... i couldn't find it anywhere. either way, the reason why i never posted in the "olllld thread" is because of my experience of getting frustrated with douches who nominated people like willem dafoe in the FIRST underrated actors thread.

i think this is the 3rd or 4th "underrated actors" thread i've seen so far....

EDIT: fyi... ACTORS LIKE WILLEM DAFOE AND JOHN MALKOVICH AREN'T UNDERRATED!!!

True. But he's not underrated, hes unknown.

I think hollywood knows full well that Macy can act. The public seems to ignore him.

I'd say Steve Buscemi.

after seeing Running Scared, I'm going to have to say Paul Walker. Everyone hates the guy. I myself really disliked him too until I saw Running Scared. I think he just picks stupid movies to be in and corny/cliche roles which is why people didn't like him. His acting isn't the best thats for sure, but in Running Scared he seemed like a whole different person from any of his other movies.

Wow, that's a perfect pick. Now that you mention it, I have seen him in so many movies! He makes a perfect villain IMO.

He's won two Emmys and grabbed an Oscar nom. He's been in a million films. How is he unknown or underrated?

I didn't call him unknown. I say he's underrated because he has mostly had minor or supporting roles. The fact that he just recently did a TV movie (for which he won the two Emmys) is proof that he's not an "A list" actor.

I dunno... He definitely doesn't fit the stereotype of a movie star. He's like Buschemi (although not as hideous) in that respect. But I hardly think he's underrated.

IMO, people dismiss Brad Pitt as just another pretty boy... but the guy can act.
I'd put Gary Oldman in the underrated category as well. He's a little like Johnny Depp in that he can pull off ANY role.
