I have a file server running a AMD 2000+ Palamino core running at 42 degrees C will it hurt to put FSB to 100 ande run at 1250 mhz...there it runs alot cooler down to 35 degrees...at that setting i can decrewase fan speeds therefore less noise....will this in turn affect the processdor in the long run?

Considering you can run a 2.25 ghz and probaly up to 2.4 ~ 2.6 ghz all day long with a 20 Db fan (which is practically noiseless). I dont see why you would downclock a cpu just to put an inferior cooling solution. Get better heatsinks / fans! BTW 42c is pretty cool if you ask me since my TBird ran at 55c stable. Id say anything past 60 is bad so if you absolutely must lower the RPM on your fans and see what the temps are.

Even so, you can still almost certainly lower your fan speed and leave the processor at stock speed. The chips are rated to run at the designated speed with just the AMD stock cooling solution, and no case fans. (well, maybe 1 exhaust). Running that processor even at 60C will be fine. Overclocked, I wouldn't do it, but at stock speed, don't worry about it. If you get crashes with the lowered cooling solution at stock, maybe think about underclocking, but don't cripple a chip for the sake of some arbitrary number on your temp reporting program.
