Underclocking my 2100+

My AMD Athlon 2100+ T-bred B is running at 1600mhz, and the Vcore is 1.58v. (spread spectrum is 0.25% in voltage/cpu frequency tab in bios setup) What's the minimum vcore needed for underclocked processor without making things unstable?

try running prime for a few minutes inbetween each voltage you use... it'll be fun let us know how it goes!

ive gone down to 1.3v on my 1700+@stock
board didnt go any lower so i couldnt go any lower

Don't try this unless you get down to 1.3v and then start downclocking the process by lowering the multipliers.....I bet at 1466mhz even at 1.3 range you likely damage the chip without a fan...

yeah
i didnt mean to imply you could pull it off at default speed with a lower vcore
you need lower vcore (like way low, mine went from 1.6v to 1.3v) and a lower overall speed

A fanless Intel won't do much better; it just has less chance of killing itself completely. It seems that only VIA's Cyrix chips can survive, and actually run (not daily of course) without a fan or even heatsink. But of course, if you could downclock your AMD or P4 slow enough to match the performance of that chip, they could run without a fan too.

gonna try 1.56v, see if it holds

Edit: lowest it goes is 1.575v, set on that with 0.5% spread spectrum. Will see if stable w/ prime95 running, The vcore went as low as 1.55 also.
