Awesome movie!

I'm in for zoolander aswell,

my input on the subject, Pootie Tang!

It was hilarious at the theater, even though my friends and I were the only ones there.

Seconded... That movie made me so tense when I watched it in the theater that I left with a migraine. If any movie gets me that worked up its good.

Hey look KT is doing something useful rather than trolling in P&N.

Heres my contribution: Gadjo dilo

I saw this in the theatres while in grad school.

You must be thinking of the other KT.

Wow, a Canadian movie! Don't see many of those recommended.

Demolition Man

I think that movie made more of a political point than most political dramas.

After watching that movie shermed out beyond belief I have to agree. Took on a totally different meaning but then again when you're that high nothing is really the same.

Gymkata

It's underrated, but absolutely horrible. If you've seen it you know what I mean.

Time to axe battlefield earth from the list. That movie was HORRIBLE...unless, of course, you never read the book. In which case please hand in your geek card and hit the local library. That book was GREAT, that movie was terrible.

I'll add a disclaimer. I've never read the book, so it is possible I may actually enjoy the movie.

I enjoyed both the book and the movie, in that order.

Edit: Movie is only enjoyable after book if you are good at suppressing the "holy crap they raped this must tear hair out and scream" reflex.

I think it was (and they couldn't do it in one movie) the timeline (only got what...maybe 1/2 or 1/3 of the book) and then the freaking jet fighters...the machine guns in the book where a stretch, but tell me they found jet fighters and fuel and ordinance that still worked...

A Perfect World - Clint Eastwood directed & starred... along with Kevin Costner & Laura Dern.

The last 2 i'd never heard of till i saw them at the video store.

those are pretty damn good. I'm still surprised how seldom you hear mention of The Mosquito Coast

13th Warrior and Knight's Tale. 13th Warrior, I don't know why it just cracks me up. The dialog is pretty good.

Anyone see "The Thirteenth Floor?"

It came out the same time as the Matrix, and was a similar plot (simulated reality through Video game--more like Total Recall I guess..)...but much better imo. Story-driven rather than action-driven. Keanu Reeves is a deuche

That was a pretty decent film. It'd go well on the underrated list.

I've updated the OP with more underappreciated goodness!

Some of the movies I am not sure are underappreciated though:

Roots - I remember this being one of the most lauded movies ever when I was younger

Trading Places - Eddie Murphy, Dan Akroyd, and Jamie Lee Curtis's breasts all at their peaks!

Blade Runner - Always referenced as one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time!

Sixteen Candles - for reasons I noted above.

Anyway, thanks for the list and keep 'em coming if you have 'em!

Cheers,
KT

Gymkata is underrated? By who?

Seriously, it is so lame it doesn't even warrant rating!

Oh and the most under-rated movei i the history of film is Shakes The Clown.

You just have to see the opening scene to be convinced!

That movie kind of creeped me out the first time I saw it. I liked it more the second time around.

Added.
