Undervolt: Is it safe?

Aside from the potential unstability, does undervolt, say 10% off the stock voltage has other bad effects to the CPU or motherboard? Does undervolt too much have the potential to kill the CPU? I'm using AMD 64 2800+ and K8N Neo Platinum which supports C'N'Quiet (in which C'N'Quiet is undervolting + underclocking).

It's all because it really helps the CPU to run cooler while undervolted, but still running at stock speeds.

EDIT: I ran F@H so the CPU is always under load.

I undervolt to keep my temps down. I've been running a 1.33 Tbird undervolted for 3 years and I've never had a single problem with it. My current IC7-G won't undervolt my 2.8 though

My A64 3200+ is currently running at 5x/1V, but I'm not at much load. The 1V is slightly outside the Cool n Quiet voltage (i'm using RMClock) but it's fine and drops the temperature off nicely.

Try using RMClock and slowly lowering the voltage. You'll know when you're too low because your system will stop.

I'm actually running RM clock right now at 1.375v, the temps drops about 5C

I've ran some really quick test at 1.25v, stock speed on prime95 test for about 10 minutes, and the temp even drops further for about 2-3C.

I'm running my Winchester at 1.072 volts. (Same as Cool n Quiet voltage, but now it's at full speed. )
I get Prime95 stable for 5 hours, but then it reboots on me. It's fine at 1.172 volts.

I don't see how it can hurt your computer if AMD does undervolting itself with Cool n Quiet.
