I've been mainly undervolting this card to keep it below 70C in a hot climate + room (28-35C). So far at 950mV, -30% PL, 1550Mhz Mem + 925mV I've managed to keep stock frequency on my pulse (1285Mhz) and reduce power to 94W. The fans have seen a 400RPM fall too at load (1800 to 1400 during GTA5 for instance).

I think I am getting closer to the 1650. Any tips on how to get even lower power and temps, besides frequency? Also Polaris seems really nice for UVing, I am wondering what I could achieve with a blower Vega 56. The 1080p60 assurance would be lovely. Thanks in advance.

Underclocking memory won't bring you anywhere. Polaris loves memory bandwidth and by underclocking its memory you're probably saving just very small amount of power but getting substantial performance hit.

There is only so much you can do when your ambient temperatures are that hot (up to 95f degrees with a lot of humidity I imagine).

A roomy case with plenty of fans likely will be what's needed. Although, keeping GPUs below 70c at all times might just not be feasible without severely impacting the performance (especially if you go with a blower style card).

2*120 hi-static pressure inlet fans and 2*120 standard exhaust fans are required to achieve silent and cool operation.

I live in similar condition like OP do, and with mild underclocking and undervolting (on my sig) I can achieve 65°C with ~900rpm fan.

There's very small difference in temperature between 1250-1300MHz core clock and 930-970mV core voltage but I prefer to keep it under 90W (core only).

Okay at 1325Mhz and 950mv running games and unigine fine. Mem at 1750/900mV. Won't go past 74C. Good no?

How much do I increase the memclock or is polaris scaling with mem freq a myth?
