Well, i was thinking to get a Vapor-X 290 but the GB GTX 780 OC was equally priced so i decided to take a chance with it...
And now i am waiting for maxwell or the 300 series from AMD to appear.

the extremeHD score isn´t worth much, because of the fx 8320,
my xeon e3 1230v3 + 770sli beats this setup in full hd

this resolution is a different story, though

windforce r9 290 oc + xfx r9 290 double dissipation,

both @ 1040/1250MHz,
fx8320 @ 4.0GHz

anyway, this setup needs more than full hd, or severe cpu limit

This is my 4 yo budget girl. I just replaced my gfx card earlier this year, her last before I rebuild next year.
Phenom B50 @ 3.6 GHZ R9 270 @ 1225/1500 I have been very pleased with this build. Not the most powerful in the world but For what I had to spend she has served well.

Edit: I should have fully read the OP.here is a proper screen. I had to run it again.Got a little better score tho.

So, I upgraded to an R9 290 today and ran the benchmark to see how much it improves my score.

A bit lower than I was hoping. I think I'll overclock and see how much headroom I have. Otherwise, I'll have to look into getting a new CPU - maybe one of the Devil's Canyon if I decide to upgrade sooner than later.

Some more overclocking warranted some higher score, although the benchmark ran great my GPU's seemed to start throttling at the scoring screen. Anyways they stayed at the overclocked values for the benchmark.

These GPU's are really starting to impress me now. Instead of letting evga precision control my fans I set them to 85% manual and ran the benchmark with even higher clocks, my cards stayed below 57 degrees Celsius.

Did a 640x480 no AA run to see how my 3770 non k @3.7Ghz does, 5294 seems pretty good for a cpu limited benchmark. Been a while since i ran this.

1954 for a 2gb gtx770 running stock at 1080p Extreme HD, my post mostly about the cpu.

It's your CPU that's dragging down the scores, you should easily get over 55fps with a 290.

Most I can get out of CF 7870's One Sapphire other is MSI both at 1235/1475
I got my Sapphire and MSI 7870 for around $150 each off ebay practically new. They run very good no problems and great OC on both considering this cost me about $300 total setup it performs well for the price around the same level as a R9 290.
My score: 2926 69.9 FPS

Just swapped out my crappy reference R9 290 (couldn't reliably get past 1075 even w/ 100mv) with a Vapor X. I put the clocks at 1125/1450 with 100mv as a starting point and ended up with this. I can't wait to push this card when I get some more time.
