Uninstall (or Image) Win 7 app to reinstallable package?

Im upgrading my base PC components for the first time in some years (Win7 to 10) and I seem to have lost the installers for a few useful apps.

I want something that takes an image of an installed program so I can port it over to my new Win10 machine, I'm sure I have something in my HDD that does this as part of the toolset but I cant remember/find what it is.

Any thoughts guys? Thanks a lot.

Unless the originally installed programs were installed as 'portable' what you want to do can't be done. The programs will need to be reinstalled under Win 10.

If you do an in place upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 everything will still be in Win 10 and working. You can if you want, do a Clone of your existing Win 7 Hard Drive to a spare Hard Drive. This will keep your existing Win 7 as a spare in case you need to use it again. I would use Acronis TrueImage to do this.

Your way works for an upgrade on the same machine but, if I read his post correctly, he wants to move installed programs from an existing win 7 install to an existing win 10 install and that can't be done except with "portable" software.

Since we do not know what programs he wants to move, we can not try to locate the installers for them. He might try the website of the programs or maybe: oldapps.com .. They have a lot of the older program versions. He will still need his license keys for any programs that need them.

If you could "clone" software from one computer to another computer who would ever buy any software? That's why it can't be done..........

First you are not really cloning the software. Second, for most users, the older version of a program still has all the features they need. And in some cases, (like Office going to the Ribbon) the newer version may not be desirable. I still run Office XP on one computer. All it is used for is Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (just the address book part, as I do not use Outlook to access my Emails) .. My other computer (on Win 10 Home 64) runs Office 2010 and can access my emails, if I wanted to do so. Lots of old programs are just fine, provided they can install on the newest OS
