I randomly decided to rent Universal Soldier: Regeneration from Netflix. I had no idea they had made a sequel to the first movie, let alone this one being the 5th in the series. It brings back Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren from the original so I figured it'd be amusing if nothign else.
I was actually surprised with how well done it was. I've never heard of the Director before, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get higher budget work in the future. He did a good job of putting together good action sequences without "over directing" the scene (just letting the action play out on screen). There was some obvious stunt double work during a couple scenes (though judging by what they were doing it wasn't surprising), but it didn't take away from anything.
So, if you're looking for a good guy movie, give it a shot.
