Unknown device in windows 10

I updated my asus U47A-BGR4 laptop to windows 10. There is an unknown device in device manager showing error code 28 (usually a missing driver). Under details, it shows "ROOT\AMPPAL\0000 as the value.

I did a google search for that value and it seems to be associated with Intel Centrino Bluetooth.

The intel driver support tells me that I have Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 for Networking/IO.

I downloaded the latest drivers here:

Still no luck.

Did youinstall through device manager or use the buit-in installer. It may not have picked it up correctly with the built-in installer.

You downloaded the newest drivers for the wireless card itself, not the Bluetooth. Here's the link to those drivers:

Last time I tried that "Intel Driver Assistant", it told me that I wasn't using an Intel-brand product. Apparently, it's only good for Intel's own motherboards, and their NUC mini-PCs. NOT any old custom rig with an Intel CPU or chipset. Too bad.

It worked perfectly with that HTPC I built in March. In fact, it updated the firmware and drivers of the wireless/bluetooth on the MB.

That is one sweet HTPC.
