Unknown PCI device on fresh install of Gigabyte 965P-S3 motherboard.

Building a new system from scratch. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 and it lists an "unknown PCI device" in device manager with a yellow exclamation through it.

I've gone to Gigabytes site and let their software scan for updates and have installed all of those. It's still showing.

Only thing I have in any PCI slot is an Asus 8800GTS.

Install is Windows XP Pro

Any thoughts?

They don't make PCI 8800 GTS's. That much I know. Have you installed the drivers for the onboard NIC?

PCI express, for the video card.

Yes, NIC driver was the first thing I installed.

PCIe and PCI aren't anywhere near the same thing. Hey, have you installed the driver for the onboard sound? Windoze might possibly be confused into thinking that it's a PCI card, also, since it works through the PCI bus.

Right click on the device>Properties>Details>Device Instance ID

What does it say? You need the vendor and product codes (VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY)

If you look up the vendor and device codes, you should be able to determine what it is, and if you have drivers for it. Post them here too, so we can have a look at it too

It was an Audio Device on a High Definition Bus, found the driver and it's working.
