All Nexus 4 phones are unlocked by default. The 299 and 349 prices are also their standard retail prices. Im glad that they are limiting the number of phones that you can buy now. the first batch was bought out by way too many resellers trying to sell then on ebay for $500-1800!

Regular prices are NOT a hot deal

Sometimes they are, but posting to say you don't think something is a hot deal is always threadcrapping.

The reason I posted them was because they weren't available for a while until yesterday , so if you want to snag them before they sell out [or not].

who knows when google may run out of those.

For me a pure phone with no bloatware and no contract at 350 bucks is an awesome deal

I was all over this until I realized that it doesn't have 4G LTE Looks like a great phone with great hardware for the price, but no 4g is a bummer. I guess if you're not interested in 4g (or you live in an area with little or no 4g coverage) it's a great deal.

My gf uses ATT Straight talk sim. I am gonna get a tmo sim from straight talk. It gives reasonable speeds. averages 10 mbps down and 1.5 mbp up which is not bad at all.

These are the compatible networks
Unlocked GSM/UMTS/HSPA+
GSM/EDGE/GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
3G (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
HSPA+ 42

I wonder when/if Straight Talk will come out with a Verizon sim card. I have the Samsung Galaxy Straight Talk phone that runs on the Verizon prepaid network (limited to 3g) but you can't get a sim card for an unlocked phone that runs the Verizon service.

Verizon only uses a SIM card for access to their LTE data network. Voice calls are still using their CDMA network. In essence, you'd need a phone with CDMA and LTE radios in order to use Verizon's network. Currently there are no MVNO that has access to a carrier's LTE network.

They are still not available; however google has changed the process so you can place the order and wait until they are available to be shipped. To be honest they might have been available for a few minutes; it's not clear if anyone who did order the other day actually had a shipping this week (well not clear to me; there is a lot of griping from folks who had to constantly re-enter the order form). I was tempted to buy one but the battery life doesn't really meet my needs; pity - for the price it is a good phone - kind of hoping nexus 5 fix the major and minor flaw at the same price point. Anyways bit of a divergant. Its a decent but normal price; though for a super hot deal the nexus 7 was actually discounted during black friday (though again without the micro-sd it doesn't meet my personal needs); but otherwise it is a fantastic tablet and even more fantastic at the price point and even better when on sale !

LTE is overrated for at&t and t-mobile; well not overrated but hpsa+ it is not a total loss. The problem I've heard is that for whatever reason verizon ended up with the best spectrums (is this still true?) so they have better reception indoors.

LTE is only over rated if you don't have it. I have AT&T and use a Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. LTE on AT&T provides the same experience on the web as WiFi at home. Very, very fast. At home, I am outside the LTE area, so if I'm not on WiFi at home then you do notice the difference in speed. For most things, it is not a big deal, but if you are downloading something or just want to do something quick then you definitely notice it.

Just like everyone wanting a phone that does everything faster, with no lag. LTE provides that experience as it just does everything faster.

I plan on picking up a Nexus 4 once they are more readily available to try out for how I use a phone daily, but am in no rush as I still go back and forth between the S3 and One X.

Technically Spring MVNO Ting offers LTE. New Verizon MVNO Talk For Good is supposed to offer LTE as well. There are talks of Page Plus offering LTE in the near future as well. So it took a while, but LTE is making it to MVNOs.

I hope that this becomes a trend in phones. I really don't want to be in another 1 or 2 year contract with a carrier again. Lived two years in the UK and for 15 pounds (at the time roughly $25) I could get 100 minutes of calling, unlimited text, and 2 gigs internet. Seeing as I don't use my cell phone for calling all that often that seemed like an absolutely insane deal.

Hopefully with more people using non contracted cell phones there will be more competition from carriers. Unlikely though.

The 8GB version appears to be sold out. The 16GB version is still there, but long delivery times. I'm thinking about this - I can probably get $350 for my 32GB iPhone 4S on Ebay, which would pay for this. I really want a Note II, though.

I was interested until I saw the LG logo on the back of the phone.

That should deter you from anything. Its been reviewed by many and they all say its a solid phone and a great showing by LG on the hardware side.

You could get 350 with ease with that phone, just make sure that you unlock it first to make alot more off of it. Your phone, unlocked, is going for 450+ on ebay right now. And if your phone is out of contract your provider HAS to unlock it for you, if you live in the US.

I still have about 11 months on the contract, so can't have the provider unlock it. However it is Jailbroken (still running iOS 5.1.1), so maybe I can unlock it myself. I'd sell it in a heartbeat if I could get that much.

The only thing that would stop me from getting a Nexus 4 would be the lack of storage. I have about 14GB of music on my phone right now, but suppose I could reduce it if needed. An external storage option would make the Nexus 4 just about perfect, and it's a way better value than the GS3 if buying an unlocked phone.

What if Samsung was selling their galaxy S4 for $5 as a regular price? I guess that's cold as can be, because its regular price

Phone was shipped by 2 day air today. . yipee

Not to be a downer, but I severely doubt it actually shipped. My phone "shipped" on the 30th of November and it still hasnt even shown up at UPS yet. When you get your "your package has shipped" notice all that means is that google has created a shipping label.

May actually be looking for one of those. Is that an ATT one?
