Unlocking 720 BE

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck unlocking the 720BE with this motherboard:

And if not what motherboards are still able to do so? I remember hearing that a gigabyte board still had available it in one of their earlier BIOS's.

All gigabyte with southbridge 710/750 should be able to unlocked a working disabled core.

It is rumored that AMD has send a notice to all mobo makers pleading to remove this feature from their bios revisions. Allegably, Gigabyte has refused to comply and is fully supporting the «questionnable» feature. If the rumor hold any thruth, it is very possible that gigabyte will keep the feature alive with futur revision of their bioses.


My board, GA-MA770T-UD3P successfully unlocked a 550BE to quad-core and OCed it to 3.7ghz on air cooling.

The CPU is the limiting factor more so than the MB. I have no luck on my Biostar TA790GX 128M.

I've got the TA790GX 128M and I've got a 4th unlock + overclock.

Asus M3A78-T unlocks it also +OC with the 1403 bios .

the 1.5 bios for the MSI 790FX GD790 supports unlocking, but your CPU is what will determine whether or not it can be done.

Unleash mode on the asus was super easy. Anecdotally I was able to get higher HT link on my asus board with the unlocked 805s and the 710.
