Unlocking Barton - do either of these tricks work?

below are two tricks that i found online for unlocking the multiplier on the AMD barton chips. I currently own a Barton 2500+ and I want to unlock the multiplier so I can run it at 10.5x200 for a clean 2100mhz. does anyone have any idea if either of these tricks or which is the best? thanks for any helpt hat can be provided.

after further research it appears as if the first method is used for unlocking multipliers 11 and higher while the second option is used for unlocking the multipliers from 11 and down.
i am interested in using the wire trick described in toms hardware to lower my multiplier. has anyone tried this?

No mods needed to change your fsb from 166 to 200. That's not a mulitiper setting, and it is not locked.

he wants to unlock the multiplier, he knows the fsb is not locked.

personally, i don't think either method works for the new bartons. i saw at article written in russian that talks about tricking the motherboard to believe the barton is a mobile version, which is never locked.

I have seen that article. But I had also seen the article posted on Toms Hardware and I was hoping to be able to use the wire trick to just receive the lower multipliers. I have been searching online. I was just hoping to get some personal experience from the guys on this forum. Thanks for the help.
Maybe I will stick with just FSB overclocking right now.

yeah, most people do 200 X 11 these days,
even for me, I keep the multiplier at 11, but pushed it to 211 before,
now I'm back to 205 and running more stable

I think for older motherboards is when the multiplier matters

I have an nforce 2 a7n8x-e deluxe so maybe i will try and go 11x200 and see if i can run stable at this point. i am running pc3700 memory so it should work. i will try that tonight and see how stable it comes out.

if you have one of the newer post week 39 locked bartons than the wire mod will not work and the mobile XP hack would probably be your only option. This is because your L3 bridges are not connected anymore and by tricking the CPu to think its a mobile athlon, you can use the mobile max mutlipliers to change your CPU speed from windows.
