how do you unlock your tbird, do u just connect the bridges to run at a very high speed, say unlocking a 900 to run at 1200, and then clock it as high as it will go (under 1200)? And also, how do you open the bridges without damaging the chips when redrawing the connections? I dont want to screw anything up too much. Thanx.

What you want to do is CLOSE (connect) the connections for the L1 bridges. This will let you change the multiplier so you can set it to go faster than 900.

To do this, you can connect the bridges using a pencil or some other conductive material.

on the chip there are a series of copper-colour dots labeled L1. the four pair of dots/connectors has to be linked together to make a current flow, which in turn allows your motherboard to manipulate it's multiplier values. oc'ing a 900 will most likely get you into the area of around 1000-1100 or if you're lucky into 1200+. anyways, soltek, as for CUTTING the bridges, can you say LASER? yeah, i don't think you will be cutting those bridges apart any time soon(and i do not see why, since you want them connected in the first place), unless you're one of those techies who keep laser cutters under their bed by the way, good luck!

thanx for the info, i have a conductive pen, and the tbird is in the mail... so I'll be ready when i get it. I was looking at the bridge connnections on Tom's site where he changes the L6/3/4 to get get a desired clock speed, but it would be a lot easier to just connect all of the L1 bridges... Thanx for the help.

Yeah, there are some old school articles on both Tom's and Anand's. All you need to do is connect the L1 bridges and then you can adjust the multiplier using the motherboard.

The reason why Tom's said to cut was because an early revision of the A7V had no DIPs for changing the multiplier, so they postulated that AMD mandated that multiplier adjustments not be included. Consequently, they sought alternate methods. But thankfully, we don't need to do that.
