My first instinct upon seeing that brand name (if it's not the actual pronunciation, I still find it amusing to call it "funny" as in "it's funny if anyone thinks those will last 2 years") I'm skeptical about the quality. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_electronics/emerson-funai-corporation.html This seems to say, "avoid." A company that cuts corners to provide cheap electronics that break down, is now cutting even more corners to provide Walmart with an even cheaper version?? This might be one of the few times where an extended warranty would make sense.

Yeah, but the extended warranty would probably cost more than the actual TV!

Buy two, and keep one as a spare

I have been looking to buy a TV to go along with a new console. Wal-Mart has the Element 40" LED TV for $178. Seems like a great deal. Anyone have any other information on this product? Hopefully it will have the right inputs, though I am fairly sure it will.

I purchased a Samsung 40" TV at Walmart one black Friday maybe 2 years ago. It worked great but it only had 1 HDMI input. So knowing what kind of inputs the TV has can be important. Lately TV's often have fewer and fewer HDMI inputs.
