I have a problem with my P6T Deluxe that has recently started to occur. When I shut down from windows (Beta 7 and RC 7 64bit) the system will power off completely and then about 3sec later it will power back on. It's kind of creeping me out lol. I have to hold down the power button to shut it down completely.

I'm using 1504 of the BIOS. PC specs are 6x2GB DDR3, i7 920, gtx 295, seasonic md12 850w psu. The bios is set to full power off in the event of a power loss, and all the wake-on options are disabled.

Any ideas?

Can someone verify on the v2 (or even the original p6t) that you can manually set the 21x multiplier now?

aka can I do 190x21=4.1ghz under 8 thread load?

Is there a 'preferred' bios version? Is there one to avoid? Mine came with 0302 and there are two newer ones 0406 and and 0504 or something like that. Should I stay put, or update to one of the newer ones?

Upgrading to the latest version helped some weird issues I was having with the computer not being able to find drivers for my USB hub.

Before I upgraded, I couldn't even hit 3.0GHz with my i920. I haven't tried it since.

I was going to buy one after some price drops, i7 920 D0 i bought allready, but if it will not work without BIOS upgrade how i'm gonna make instalation?
I have no another CPU...

Will anyone choose P6T Deluxe v2 over P6T (regular) specifically in terms of o/c to 3.6-3.8Ghz 24/7 stable with 920 D0 cpu (aircooled)? Ncix have this bundle right now with vanilla P6T but not sure if I should get P6T Deluxe v2 instead. I don't need any of the extra features on the Deluxe to be honest.

I just noticed your sig...so I'm wondering if you are talking about the P6T series or not.

I have the same problem on the P6Tv2. I used one of my locking cables on port 6 and it works fine...not sure why the 4-90 degree ports are smaller in size.

And yes, they all run off the Intel Chipset.

You have to use the cables without clips. I think it's a manufacturer defect.

I just got the parts for my new rig, which I was planning to use with my existing case and power supply. The PSU is Antec TruePower Trio 550, which has been running a P5B Delxue/E6600/4gb/8800GT combo flawlessly for over 2 years now. After reading the 600w minimum spec in the P6T Deluxe V2 manual, I'm now worried a bit. Here are the specs of the new build...

P6T Deluxe V2
i7 920 (Absolutely NO O/Cing) - stock cooler
12gb (2gb x 6) corsair 1333mhz
GF 8800GT
2 x WD caviar black hd (640gb + 1tb)
Pioneer dvd-r drive

This machine does stay on constantly, but as you can see I'm not running any SLI or Crossfire, raids, etc. Am I safe sticking with what I have now, or should I spring for a new psu?

thanks,
m

Kind of an odd question, but can anyone tell me the exact dimensions of the box that the P6t deluxe v2 comes in. I ordered one with some other stuff, but I am going to send just the motherboard (in its box) to my brother and need to get a box for it to be shipped in.

Thanks
:thumbsup:

I'm in the same boat you are except maybe a month further along. So I am still learning.

It is hard to get directions (do this and that) here. They want you to get to know your system, by learning the hard way - by doing it, little by little.

The first thing I did to test OC waters was simply change BCLK and nothing else step by step all the way to 4.0. I eventually noticed that the motherboard automatically increased everything else including voltage on the cores! No wonder the temps were so high

I'll give you this much: I have been slowly increasing BCLK and decreasing voltage, probably not the best way to do it, but I am now at 3.7 (185x20) @ 1.16V

And watch your temps! Mine are mid-30s idle and low-60s full load.

YES! finally got a good OC with this board will try to reach higher but kind of like where I'm at

For anyone else looking to OC their ASUS P6T board you could do this combination below *its for a 3.7Ghz OC*

Ai Overclock => Manual
Intel Speed Step Tech => Disabled
Intel Turbo Tech => Disabled
CPU Ratio => AUTO
BCLK Freq => 186
PCIE Freq => 100
DRAM Freq => DDR3-1491Mhz
UCLK Freq => AUTO
QPI Link Data Rate => AUTO

CPU Voltage => 1.35
CPU PLL Voltage => 1.96
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage => 1.35
DRAM Bus Voltage => 1.64
CPU Differential Amplitude => 800MV

*all other voltages to AUTO*

That should do the trick! hope this helps anyone who is a beginner like me to OC:thumbsup:

1. What are your temps? 1.35 CPU Voltage seems high! (I got 3.8Ghz OC stable at 1.18, temps mid-60s)

2. Do you know what the other voltages defaulted at? (Did you have to raise them much?)

1) Last I checked they where hitting the mid 50s and that's when I was gaming from 9am-4pm straight in an 80F room. I'm guessing that I may have risen it abit too high, thinking of lowering the voltage a bit to lower temperature :laugh:

2) well other that what I had posted everything else was on Auto

Update: my previous board was fine...it was my DVI port on my 24" that failed, resulting in no post.

Just did XMP,
Multiplier 21X
BClk 175
Vcore 1.265 (showing 1.312v under CPUID)
Everything else auto

Running nice so far...will o/c higher as I finish installing updates on my vista 64

UPDATE: Running stable @ 3.9ghz 1.27v (under bios, reported 1.31v under cpuz)
Running it with Crucial 1333 DDR3 4x2GB ($80shipped for 8GB from newegg)

Hello Pun,

I managed to OC my CPU to 4GHZ usin the H50 cooler.
I was wondering what configuration you had for the Intel X25-M
I have the 160GB G2 Version, but to me the MOBO is taking WAY to long to POST.

Can you give me a good (fast) boot up config for hte P6T Deluxe V2??

Wow, you dug up an old post of mine. My boot time is about 30-40sec from push of a button to windows desktop.

Set your storage to AHCI (instead of IDE/RAID), with the firmware (pulled or coming new firmware), you should have TRIM support.

I disabled Express Gate
Also if you are raiding your 7.2k drives under Jmicron controller, it would significantly slow your boot time.

I find this ami bios to be slow booting than many others.

Kinda late in replying, but for some may find this answer helpful.

No, your system won't boot with the old bios & D0. Asus will send you a new bios chip or RMA your board.

Even with default settings, these Core i7 platforms automatically overclock, overvolt if using auto settings in the motherboard bios. So, when you system is under full load, yes you definately need a better psu unit.

Is anyone but me having problems with express gate?
Videos play after downgrade to older version, but theres no sound.
Scrolling in the browser is extremely choppy/jerky.

In videos of people using express gate i dont remember seeing these issues, they all had sound and smooth browser scrolling.

Can anyone please direct me to where i can read about this problem and maybe solve it?

Thank you in advance
