<< specs as in? 3dmark? >>

No, as in fsb, voltage, what memory you're using, and which mainboard you're using.

Oh, sorry.
Asus P4S333, 1.55v (in BIOS),(2) sticks of Crucial 256mb PC2100 CL2.5, 143.96 (144) fsb right now (2303mhz).
Thats as far as 1.55v goes in SiSift Sandra over 100 runs before closing to the desktop, Id rather not push the voltage, Ive heard of people running 1.65v but Im 'afraid' my wallet couldnt take a hit if anything went bad :0) so Im staying there.
Ive only a 3com 3c905b-tx 10/100 card in a PCI slot, nothing else, running a Seagate 30gb/7200 drive, seems OK so far.

You didn't have to give the OC specs on the card. 3dmark2001 is a fairly irrelevant benchmark except to see how effective overclocking is or how new drivers are.
Oh well.

Can you take some shots (images) of your watercooled P4 setup?

Once my digital camera returns from RMA land (read: repair or replace), I will.

I edited my earlier post(early in thread) because my El cheapo MSI 645 Ultra is now running my 1.8a at 2.52g after a little wire mod to increase the default vcore. Before it would only run 2.25g stable.

Hey pillage, how can you have over 5000 posts in the forums and know absolutely nothing about the hardware discussed here??

<< Why don't you guys post your temps too?? I'm ready to convert. >>

It's because temperatures are irrelevant and inaccurate.

You guys are pussies!

Pump up tha juice. You want those high overclocks, you need to up the vcore up. I'm running my 1.6A at 1.85 (according to my bios) and I have my chip at 2.4 stock. My mobo is a TH7II-RAID and 512 of samsung RDRAM. Fokes, if your chip is running at 60*C you needn't worry. Woodies are spec'd-out to turn them selves off at around 130*C. You wont fry anything. You'll just need to re-boot.

trust me!

I'm running 2 volts on my P4 2A @ 3.2GHz.

CPU: Pentium 4 1.8A @2.250
Voltage: 1.625 V
Cooler: Retail Intel Heatsink
SL code: not sure
Fpo/Batch: -----
Location: Malay
Pack Date: -----
Motherboard: Asus P4B266
FSB: 125 MHz
Memory: Crucial 256 MB ECC DDR CL 2.5

Just got the CPU a day ago; I cleaned off the thermal pad and applied Arctic Silver 2 as per the directions on their website (as I've done many times before). At first, it would not even POST @ 133 MHz fsb (2.4 GHz) ... About 3 hours later it would boot @ 1.675 volts but wasn't stable. 5 hours later, its a lot more stable @ 133 MHz fsb @ 1.625 V (seems to be burning in with the thermal compound nicely so far).

I don't want to fry this CPU so for utmost stability, I'm running @ 125 MHz FSB @1.625 V (which gives 31 MHz PCI clock on this mobo, instead of overclocking it). It's completely stable at this rating.

I'm probably going to get a 1.6 A and o/c it to 2.133 GHz, and save the extra $100 canadian price difference so I can get a new northwood in a year or so.

The RAM does CL2 @ 140 MHz + easy btw.

The upgrade from a CUSL2 with a P3 733 was worth it!

Edit2: now, won't even boot @ 133 FSB, 125 FSB is highest it will go

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it impossible to fry these with the clock throttling feature that the Pentium 4s have?

jiffylube - Is that 1.6 volts an actual reading taken from the BIOS or MBM, or is it what you have the voltage set at in the BIOS?

The reason I ask is that I have my voltage set at 1.6 but it shows up in the BIOS and MBM as 1.57-1.58 volts actual.

Msi 845 Ultra ARU
1.8aghz @ 2.4ghz fsb533
512mb crucial running at pc2100
vcore set 1.65v actual 1.57v
Retail Heatsink and thermal pad

Ran prime for 8 hours no errors

I am getting a avc sunflower or comparable hs
AS3 to be applied to both chipset and cpu

Also likely getting a Asus P4S333 sis645 mobo....memory appears locked above a certain fsb on the board....

Msi 845 Ultra ARU
1.8aghz @ 2.1ghz fsb117
512mb ECC crucial running at 156 MHz
vcore set 1.60v
Retail Heatsink and thermal pad

As mentioned above, the memory is locked to 1:1 when the FSB gets to around 117, so I just left it there to take advantage of the high memory speed. I am ordered another board soon so I can get to 2.4 Ghz. I couldn't get mine to post at 2.4 with the voltage all the way up to 1.65. I am thinking of getting either an ASUS or Epox. The Asus board locks the memory to 1:1 after 133, so most people leave theirs at 132. The epox sounds like it has more settings and I have seen a few people get some good overclocks on it.
