After anxiously awaiting this giveaway for over a week, I started hitting the site right at 12:00 noon. I hit it over and over again as fast as I could for 5 hours. I did not win, and I wish I could say that I came away with nothing.

What I did get was about 5000 impressions from Logitech that I am ?Not Winner?, and 5000 impressions from that girl on the loser page with that smirky smile laughing at me reinforcing the idea that I must be a loser. Over and over again it was hammered into me that I am not a winner with Logitech.

OK, well I?m certainly not permanently damaged by this experience but it got me thinking?

Was this an effective marketing effort? Was repeatedly sending a message to their customers that in essence said, ?You are a loser with Logitech?, a good idea? Sure, I?m disappointed that I did not win after eagerly waiting for this event and spending 5 hours in a numbing exercise. How many other people were left with a negative subconscious impression of Logitech?

Well I guess the consolation prize is a 20% off rebate for Logitech products. The problem is, I don?t really feel like buying Logitech products after this experience. Why can?t marketing people come up with promotions that leave all participants feeling like winners?

i would bet california got the least people that won,i think it has something to do with them logitech having to pay taxes because they operate in california.Could be totally off but had really hard time winning it and im from california.

I won, and then my friend won on my system. It would suck if they kept track of IPs to see who won twice (or more), or used cookies, since the same comp was used on static ip.



Live in California, and it took a HECK OF A LONG TIME to win. WAAAY too long...

I won one. I did F5 then R. I did this off and on for about a 2 hour period. After I won, I saw no reason to keep trying. I hope Logitech has software that timed how often you refreshed your page. If it turns out to be an inhuman amout, then I hope those script kiddes/adults(?) loose out. And if they get rejected I can just hear them now, "That's not fair, Logitech sucks." No, you do.

Congrats to those of us that won fairly. Sorry to those that didn't win. And to those that used a script or won mulitple times, may Santa screw you in the a@@.
