ok so i work as a tech, granted, i still have alot to learn, but this is a first for me, and the issue happens to be on my own box....
i had an old crappy cdrw drive that was dying, so i picked up a new one from our shop spare parts. well, the old drive refuses to let go. if i unplug it, my computer wont give me a post screen. i tried plugging the cdrw drive back in, and shutting that ide channel down in the bios, but still the same result. now i'm having power issues (i think) as a result of having too many devices plugged in, and for now i cant afford a new power supply. has anyone ever run into this type of problem? unplug an ide device and then no post screen? unless my mb is failing (its an asus, dont know what model #) then i should at least still be able to get to the bios to setup a new config. maybe its something simple that i've managed to overlook, so any ideas would be appriciated.
