FWIW, I phoned about my $10 rebate and the qualifying period (I, too, got rejected).
I didn't even need to ask about it - after I verified my name, address, etc., the CSR stated my rebate was being reprocessed and should be sent out in the next 4 weeks. I assume they've been inundated with calls about this issue and are now reprocessing claims for eligibility.
I thought it would be a hassle, etc., but was easy-squeezy...
