Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3

lol yeah i have unreal grills oin my pc as well. Im a huge fan of the series. I am a bit worried...I NEVER see a lot of people on the servers....just me???

another complaint. actually a few-let me start on the top and I will go into detail if anyone likes:

First, when I join a server, I think there is map rotation but gametype never changes. This is annoying...and where is everyone??? I can only see sometimes, under 10 servers. You're telling me only 70 people bought this game!?? what is going on?
You cant tell me they didn't test it enough-they could have easily released a beta open stress test or a beta demo. SOMETHING to test that the server browser works. So far, the ps3 is riddled with server connection errors, work arounds etc. My 360, I plug it in, quick play or join server, boom,no problems....Why cant they get this right on the ps3??? Please...

And the mic--honestly...with warfare, mic support would be nice. Havent they learned from all the previous unreals, the canned, click through the menu responses are dated, and too long to go through for this type of game. This is a fast twitch FPS. Give me reliable mic support. maybe a 'no push to talk function"? or maybe a mic mute for annoying people-oh wait, no one uses the mic anyways because it is so inconvienent.

The ps3 mods site appears to NOT be functional....come on, this is a no brainer.

M/KB support...ok...it works...but, something is off, maybe someone can explain the technicality, and this isn't a huge deal because it is a console game...

I am most upset because unreal3 was my title for the ps3 I was banking on for multiplayer mayhem. I know warhawk is good, resistance is fun too, but unreal always has packed a great punch. This game feels like something is off-its frustrating as hell to say I went and rented this title, and I would be extremely regretful if bought this.

I love video games, but compared to today's standards. come on, this game has flashy graphics, and an old concept-which is fine- but at least make what it does have work..damnit

Mic support is poor is what i meant.

I dont expect any mods now, Im saying the site is not even up yet. it throws a blank page..they give you a url from the in game browser

do the kb/m controls feel as good as the pc version? i read somewhere that something is a little off about it.

The reviews of the PC version are so mixed, and TF2 and COD4 seem much more active. This makes me wonder whether there will be anything like the amount of user-created content for UT3 as there was for UT2K4. That would mean not much PS3 content either even once the PS3 packaging and delivery tools are finished.

Stupid question, but how many people are still playing UT2k4. I actually have the game sitting at home somewhere (not on my PC since I installed vista at school). If there still is a large user base, I may have to re-visit that game. As far as UT3 goes, I unfortunately don't have a PC that is capable of running it (nor do I currently own a PS3). However, I am a huge fan of the unreal series from back in the day.

As with everything, an online game is only as good as the community which plays it. Can you play mixed games between ps3 and computer (I'm assuming that you can't)? I did try to check out the UT3 site... but all I got were some awesome screen shots! Couldn't find much info about the ps3 version of the game... was thinking about buying it for my younger brother for his ps3.

Edit: I see that there was supposed to be a 360 version also (assuming they are still going to be working on it after the holidays). While I won't hold my breath for Kb/m support, I may be able to get some UT3 killing in anyway! For right now... CoD4 multiplayer is keeping me plenty busy!

it works fine for me. the kb+mouse definitely gives me an advantage when playing people using a joystick! heheh

I picked it up today...so far, LOVE IT! The keyboard/mouse control is the greatest thing to happen to console fps games since Goldeneye. IGN gave the sixaxis control a good review, so I tried out both...the keyboard/mouse combo was much better. I noticed none of the lag they talked about either, and I'm using a wireless. Graphics look great, control is crisp, online play is smooth. :thumbsup:

What Epic is doing is cooking the PC maps and making then DLoadable for PS3...

There are still thousands of people that play UT2004, the server lists are pretty populated.
I will get UT3 at some point, but at this point the game feels rushed with it's lack of maps, gametypes, and mutators. UT2004 had much more of each. I will probably wait for the modding community to make some maps and remake Onslaught and Domination gametypes.

My favorite is still the original Unreal Tournament. I still play it to this day. I really want to get it anyway for the PC, but can't say that it's worth a full $50. Is there any place that is offering it a bit cheaper?

going to get it. gotta find a compatible wireless mouse/kb combo though first.. that won't break the bank.

I haven't played an FPS for a while mostly because I don't care to upgrade my system for gaming... which is why I like consoles. I just can't stand dual analog fps. I hope more games on the ps3 (and preferably xbox too) that will take advantage of this. Altho, seems more like a pipe dream at the moment.
