Right now I'm on a road trip. I am currently running old drivers (358.91) and am noticing my 650m is idling at far lower clockspeeds than before. I am seeing the GPU idle at 68 Mhz!. The lowest I've seen it go before was 135 Mhz.
I can't believe the 650M is actually able to run at 68 MHz, far lower than the idle clockspeed listed for Kepler, Maxwell and Pascal. The GPU @ load is 0.950v and is 0.812v idle. The 68 Mhz clocks occur at 0.812v.
Launching a game (CPU heavy task) can cause my GPU to idle at 68 Mhz. The low clockspeed does not occur when in a game or on Windows desktop with nothing going on. I'm not looking for a problem, I just want to know if this 68 Mhz is actually 68 Mhz. I have the feeling it isn't actually 68 Mhz and is actually 135 Mhz. Just curious if it is my old drivers on W10 Anniversary causing this 'bug'.
Yeah, I'll upgrade the drivers and MSI Afterburner soon. I am only playing 4-5 year old titles anyways. I use Windows exclusively for gaming so I am on OS X 95% of the time.....
